#silverpornsaturday: My Best Toned Silver Coins #3

Silver coins can tone in the most wonderful colors!

A couple of weeks ago, I showed two of my toned Peace Dollar:
1927 Peace Dollar
1925 Peace Dollar
Today I want share another toned silver coin in my collection.

1935 Peace Dollar

This 1935 Peace Dollar is toning in the hues of mustard yellow, dark gold, blues, and greens.

Naturally toned coins are the result of a long and slow process in which chemicals in the environment affect the surface of the coin. Many of these silver coins toned as a result of the way they were stored for a long period of time.

I think that the different ways that these three coins are toning (actually, I have four and I shall show the last one of the Peace dollars on a future article) make them uniquely different from all other Peace Dollars. I d collect the date set of Peace Dollars, and they are all slabbed coins. And I stack them as well and try to complete a tube at a time.

I agree these are beautiful. So I keep them in airtite capsules as you can see just like O would any pristine and shiny silver coins, and would dare touch them with my bare fingers. I have one more to show. Not as beautifully toned, but it is an extra special first release.

I know, right?!!!! Seldom does one come across beautiful natural toning on silver coins. I have a naturally toned silver round... it would have been perfect hand it not been mishandle but someone who may have not realized the value of toned silver.... and it’s got all the fingerprints of careless handling... what a waste!

I love these special coins, @silvertop. And I think they come with very high premiums as well, that is, if one can find them available. These ones, I classify as a collection!

Actually Colorful toned Peace Dollars are much more Scarce than Colorful Morgan Dollars. Thank You for Sharing these Beautiful Pieces with us Ms. Saver @silversaver888

I think they are naturally toned 😊! The pourers didn’t use sulfur to give silver the antique finish.

No but people pay good money for certain looks of toning, so coin people try to unnaturally tone coins using sulfur to get more money for a coin.

That would be a great business to get into! Maybe I should try doing that. Mrs V did give me instructions on how o antique the silver bars I gave away as bars of gratitude. But like I said, a second and no more than 3 seconds on that liver of sulfur turned the bars black, and then I had to neutrlize them immediately in baking soda and water. They were black!
