Technology: A 10X Explosion In The Global Economy In 15 Years

The global economy is in rough shape right now. Do not let that fool you however.

When looking at the long term implications, the economy is going to soar. As the title states, do not be surprised to see the global economy 10X over the next 15 years.

Technology is leading the way in a manner that most cannot imagine. We will look back at the decade we are ending as the Stone Age in comparison. The convergence of all these technologies is going to give growth at an exponential rate.

One of the leading areas we will see an impact is manufacturing. While automation has done well the last 30 years, at least from a productivity standpoint (for workers, not so much), it is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

What is ahead of us in this important field?

We are nearing the age of machines building machines.

In an era where little human intervention is required, productivity goes through the roof. Machines can operate 24/7. Over time, due to advancements, speeds can be increased allowing for greater output. This raises the ceiling as compared to humans who have a limit.

Of course, many will say this is far off. It does sound like something out of a science fiction film. Nevertheless, this is present today.

One company that epitomizes this is Relativity Space. This is an outfit that builds rockets. It is also home to the largest 3D printer in the world.

In the technology world, this is one of the leaders in the space race. Although a small player compared to SpaceX and some of the others, their manufacturing techniques might just close the gap quickly.

While the rocket is not expected to fly until 2021, the earliest, it is an amazing development.

Roll up the loading bay doors at Relativity’s Los Angeles headquarters and you’ll find four of the largest metal 3D printers in the world, churning out rocket parts day and night. The latest model of the company’s proprietary printer, dubbed Stargate, stands 30 feet tall and has two massive robotic arms that protrude like tentacles from the machine. The Stargate printers will manufacture about 95 percent, by mass, of Relativity’s first rocket, named Terran-1. The only parts that won’t be printed are the electronics, cables, and a handful of moving parts and rubber gaskets.

The rocket is 95% printed along with the use of large robotic arms.

Like much of the 3D printing world, the benefits are enormous. This rocket has 100 times fewer parts than a comparable rocket. Because of this, we could see a time frame of 60 days from raw materials to launch.

https://www.wired.com/story/massive-ai-powered-robots-are-3d-printing-entire-rockets/

How many rockets could this company build? Think about it for a second: the only requirement is to line up more printers (and having enough raw materials) and these things could be spit out like cars from an assembly line. The numbers could be staggering.

Of course, this is just one industry. In fact, 3D printing is really starting to get a bit zany. I recall reading last year how HP was using their 3D printers to print out parts for their 3D printers. This is a classic example of machines building machines. With AI software running most of the operation, the only thing required would be some robotics to assemble the parts.

What is also fascinating is the involvement in the design process using AI. Hence, the computer is partially designing the parts.

Machines building machines.

Human beings are friction in the entire process. We are slow, apt to get sick, require downtime, and are limited in what we can do. Computers and machines do not have these limitations. We are just getting to the point where we can start to see the impact of all this technology.

Just like blockchain removes the friction of 3rd party verification entities, AI coupled with devices such as 3D printers eliminate the friction caused by humans. This is going to penetrate most of the manufacturing and construction worlds.

The explosion comes from the exponential nature of the growth. Building more machines means that we can even build more machines. The system keeps feeding upon itself, pushing productivity to insane levels.

Of course, this is just one example of what will be impacting out global economy. This is also a reason why investors are going to find it very lucrative going forward. Many question how can cryptocurrency have some of the values tossed around. The answer resides in the idea that technology is going to assist in the creation of abundance.

The present GDP (I know a poor stat but it is a known figure so we will use it) is around $80T. A 10X will put this at $800T. What do you think the world will look like with an output of this magnitude? Cryptocurrency will be a great help to ensure that the masses are able to participate in the growth that takes place.

In other words, the pie is going to get a lot bigger. The technological explosion we are about to embark upon is going to be mind numbing. Few are aware of its potential.

The last 20 years were actually a down time technologically. Even though we saw some major developments, like the smart phone and social media, these pale in comparison to other innovations. The 1980s/1990s saw a much bigger impact with the cell phone, cable television, personal computer, and the Internet.

We can expect another incredible leap forward in the 2020s/2030s, only of a much greater magnitude.

Hold onto your LEO; there might just be a time when you can use it to buy into a project such as Relativity Space.

3D had a lot of hype years ago, but the technology was so new, the hype burst. However, like crypto, 3D is slowing becoming common place in society. Just was a video yesterday on the world's largest 3D printed boat.

Yes I saw that one too. It is amazing how far it has come.

3D printing were like all technologies, they get hyped and ahead of the development. The hype died down and now the technology is catching up to what was promised.

I believe 2020/2021 will see huge explosion in this field.
