Monthly Crypto Portfolio Update (Sept 2020)

Another late post this month as it continues to be busy for me in general. I have started to think that there is definitely an opportunity cost of my approach to investing in the Crypto asset class. It seems as DeFi has definitely been the catalyst to this new bull market although September the markets took a break. The fact that bitcoin remain below 60% dominance and has approached 50% shows the shift to other assets in the market.

Despite the decrease in market capitalization, the market activity remains very active and positive sentiment remains. This is again led by the may DeFi projects that continue to interest investors in search of income producing strategies. Unfortunately, I have not participated in these as I shy away from anything promising attractive gains with no risks. While none have said there is no risk, it is what you read a lot about and we have seen how this is not the case.

My allocation has not changed much but will do so the next month given some important shifts I have made in my finances. I can say that my exposure to Cryptocurrencies have definitely hit an important point. Given that, I have to seek ways to optimize my holdings as much as I can so I may soon join the "farming" set of investors but not before learning more.

As now usual, no major changes to my portfolio as I have only added my monthly contribution to DAI which has probably left me a good opportunity to look into farming opportunities in the future as my research is done. Even though my Dollar Cost Averaging strategies have worked in the past, I have started to question it for certain Crypto Assets; particularly those associated with DeFi. My buy and hold strategy has definitely disabled me from allocating assets across the DeFi space and earning some passive income in the meantime.

Lots to learn but still excited to have the growing exposure I have in the asset class. I am still encouraged to see the trends in development which are aligned with the needs we will need in the future as the monetary and financial systems of fiat world continue to look weaker given the current circumstances. Bubbles are flashing all over the place except here so looking forward to the future!
