Use Is The Use Case For Communities

So we got communities a couple of weeks ago. Those of us that have been using @steem.leo and a few others were confused because it seemed like steemit released communities that we have been using as tribes since June.

But to me while they seem similar, it seems a lot more people got to talking about them. I imagine after a couple of weeks the excitement over these communities has died down a bit.

One thing I was hoping to see when they were released (and for steemit itself since its inception) was the ability to communicate there. What I mean is that nothing gets under my skin than getting on a blockchain or dapp to hang out and have someone tell me to go join their discord or telegram to learn about it or chat with other memembers.

This seems nuts to me. If we are on steemit or a community on steemit then we should be hanging around there, not a discord or telegram. In marketing or business you want to hang out where customers hang out. We should be hanging on the blockchain.

For example if we join a photography community built on steemit then we should be hanging out on it and not joining a telegram or discord about the community. We need to make friends and have the ability to communicate without ever leaving the community. That is how they grow. Just ask Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Reddit.

It would be nice to have a chat feature but even if we start with a forum structure or just commenting on questions that people post to the community the best use case for communities is just using them!

THIS. If Steem is going to grow, it's going to have to find ways to improve its stickyness.
