Introduction

The Teacher introduces thee lesson using a set induction by asking the pupils/students to write the simple sentence: So last night, I sewed an old dress because I knew not that it was not new.
After they might had written the sentence, he asked them to say anything they think about the sentence. Of course the pupils/students different opinion about it, the teacher would however encourage the one that has a hint or clue about the words that seem to sound thee same in the sentence.

He thus writes the topic of the lesson on the on the whiteboard or blackboard as Homophones. By that he has successfully linked the opinion(s) of the pupils and students to the lesson thereby giving them a sense of belonging which very important in getting their attention and interest for the lesson sustained.

Presentation

Step One - Meaning of Homophones.

Homophones are pairs of words that sound the same, but have different meanings and different spellings. Homophones could also be said to be words that sounds the same when listening to, but has different spelling when writing. ( The second definition may seem a bit difficult but it is just the crux of the lesson if you could understand it. ) Thus, understanding homophones is an essential part of mastering the English language, both for vocabulary building and spelling.

Step Two - Examples of Homophones.

1.so/sow
2.break/brake
3.back/bark
4.ad/add
5.ate/eight
6.know/no
7.meet/meat
