Good evening steemians and a happy weekend to you all.
Today is Saturday in Nigeria and it is used by students to wash their school uniforms as well as do the homework they were given on Friday. Due to the fact that some students are not given homework by their teachers for reasons best known to them, the student use such freedom to watching home movies and play along, thereby standing the risk of forgetting what was taught the previous week.

In view of avoiding this, I would like to share a reading comprehension for your reading delight. This worksheet on reading/comprehension is useful for both young and the older ones.

Adamu and Amina always visit their uncle every Saturday. They go to bed early on Friday in order to be able to wake up early on Saturday morning. They wake up at about 5:30 a.m. and quickly sweep the rooms in the house. They also clean the tables and chairs before going to their uncle’s house. Adamu and Amina usually arrive at their uncle’s house at about 8:00 o’clock. The name of their uncle is Mr. Yusuf, he is a teacher in Umaru Musa People’s School. He usually lives the house very early in the morning to school on weekdays, and spends his weekend at home preparing his note of lesson for the next week. They help their uncle to clean his house, wash his clothes and prepare his breakfast and lunch. At about 6:p.m., they return to their house with lots of oranges and mangoes which they collect on their way back. Adamu and Amina loved oranges and mangoes very much. It was their favourite fruit.

Attempt the following questions.

1.Suggest a suitable title to this passage.
2.Who do Adamu and Amina visit?
3.Do they visit every day?
4.Which day do they visit their uncle?
5.What is their uncle’s name?
6.Where does his uncle work?
7.What do they do in their house before visiting their uncle?
8.What do they do at his uncle’s house when they visit?
9.Do they also prepare dinner before leaving their uncle’s house?
10.Which type of fruits do they collect on their way home.

I am sure that you understood the comprehension and you liked it. You can also add the things that teachers and student could learn from the comprehension passage. Please feel free to drop the answers at the comment box and please remember to come by this evening or tomorrow morning for the answers to this worksheet.
