A Taste Of Singapore Culture

More than 20 000 children in 120 public schools from the US Capital, Washington, were given a chance to have a taste of Singapore culture through food and various activities.

It was a good initiative through partnership between the Singapore Embassy and City’s Public School System.

Many of these children may not have a chance to travel but the schools decided to bring the cultures of other countries to them.

Singapore is a country with different races and racial harmony is an important aspect of nation building.

The Singapore Embassy had to collaborate and work for months before the project could take place.

Careful selection of a suitable menu to enable the youths to appreciate Singapore food.

The school chefs had to learn how to prepare Singapore food for the students.

It was an interesting experience for these children to try Singapore food as well as to learn the culture of Singapore for the first time.
