It seems we have a bit of drama back on the chain with the Tron Purchase of Steemit.com along with some other assets. Maybe, he see's a good deal here in the purchases made. Maybe he see's profit. Second guessing the motives will always lead to a paranoia. While I hear people say not to panic or do anything drastic. The talk going around is panic.

Talk about if this happens or that happens, the need for a fork to happen is a preparation for jumping ship or mutiny on-board the ship.

Many have lived with this thing about a small % of the people having so much power. That the things said from a lower level are discarded because of the Steem Power of the voice. Contribution vote value wise seems to determine who will listen to what you say.

So A take over of Steemit by Tron. Good news or bad. Like most news it is what you can gain or lose from it. After that the majority will not care. If the pocket bulges they will be happy. Tron, over night ninja'd Steemit and took over. We have to live with it, or work with it as we have it now. Expect changes to be wanted.

Bluntly opposing anything put forward as a community that changes what we have now would be a bad thing on so many levels. As a community prior to now we were working on building a relationship with those who work over at the Steemit development. This should be looked at as something to continue to go on. Have the voices of the Steemit community heard. Those with higher SP will have to begin to listen to those with less too.

Forking the chain

You have to wonder about that. It is very easy to do it seems from the witness side of things. They run the nodes and can decide on many things. The servers holding all images and the new ones made to the new forked chain. These would need to be paid for and maintained. Also an ever increasing demand for storage space.

The additional cost of a development team would be needed to be covered too as I understand things.

The question I have is what is the total running cost of all of these things? Lets say over a year.

Previous posts made by myself and many others about the non representation of a voice. There is a new peak added to the pyramid of the Steemit eco-system. Tron is the mighty cap at the top. His POS will provide a great advantage if it was used to sway the way the clock-chain moves forward. This rattles the present governance of the Steemit platform as their voice would also be rendered muted as far as the power held by POS.

Maybe a shake-up of the witness is needed and who knows. Should stake by Tron be used to manipulate the witness. This might be done in a fair manner to rotate witness through a cycle so none remain with that power for any extended period of time. Reducing the chances of conflict of interest. Who knows maybe interference would not be a bad thing for the majority of the people and not the majority of the Steem.

When a system goes from it works on proof of stake, to POS it's not fair if they have that much stake. When the games levels change. Was it fair to begin with?
