Archeage unchained, finally the game that we all really wanted?
Trion worlds the published of many mmo, among them Archeage was acquired for Gamigo a while ago, since then they have been trying to fix many mistakes made by their previous publisher that were made in the game and drove a great amount of people off the game.
I didn’t spend much time playing Archeage because the blatant pay to win in the game, I don’t have any problem to spend some money in something that I like, but being forced to do it to stay relevant or competitive is a no-no for me, there have been some fresh starts (new servers) of the game but they always have been connected to the old system/world/advantages that spending real money gives to the whales, but now there revive the game with a brand new server but this time buy to play.
Archeage unchained is a buy to play model of the game, where It will still have microtransactions BUT “without any pay to win” its suppose to be just for vanity items and nothing more, the date of the release is the 30 of September and the prices of the packages was recently revealed, starting from 25.99$ up to 79.99$. The differences between these packages are some cosmetics, badges and some credits (cash store currency).
This could be a great opportunity to bring back a really great and complex game, with a lot of features and different gameplay, probably one of the best open world-sandbox mmorpgs made. We are still to see if the new publisher will keep their word or for how long it will be, still this is a game that worth to try.
So who else is excited to get another shoot to ArcheAge?

Archeage was going to be my "one" MMO when it was released, it was beautiful and it seemed to have everything that I wanted in an online game. But unfortunately the pay-to-win was strong. I mean, seriously. Couldn't even loot gold without using labour points? Even as a subscriber?
I only lasted a couple of weeks that time around. I will be watching this keenly!!
Yeah that is what killed the game for so many, now we have the promises that won't be that way ans they already removed so many pay to win features already, right now i think we will able to enjoy the game how we should had from start. I still don't know how long they will keep their word maybe a couple years who knows, but imo is a good chance that should not be wasted.
I really liked the sea content, even fighting pirates was fun (and a bit frightening hahaha), im also glad that the have a "cheap" pack, that will bring way more people.
I was looking through the FAQ they had set up for Unchained...
I really hope they remove that thing. Or at least make it a decent number. It was no-where near enough how it was before and I kind of like just wandering around, collecting resources. :(
But still. Thanks for writing this post!! :D I had no idea about any of this until I read it. Tempted to pre-order the silver version next pay-day. It's only $25 at least. :)
Hehe you're welcome, i'm going to get that one as well and so other 4 friends. I think its a fair price to play a fair game with this much content, probably gonna buy one or another costemic if they keep their word about the p2w.
