HAVING FAITH THAT WORKS.

The father of the epileptic boy begged Jesus, “If you can do anything help us”, and so putting the onus on Jesus to take action. Immediately Jesus sent the “IF” back to the man. He said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him the believes”. Promptly the man took a stand, “I believe,” he reiterated.

Some people in the bible managed to work it out how God operates. He is not as unpredictable as our prayers often suggest. If we really know him, that He is law-abiding, our prayers would focus more on asking Him to show us how to create a winning environment.

By law-abiding I mean that God has put certain laws, and conditions on ground. If we meet those conditions or obey those laws, we or any child of God will get the same results every time and anywhere.

ABRAHAM’S SERVANT.

thebiblerevival.com/

Abraham sent out his servant to look for a wife for Isaac. He assured him that the angel of the Lord would guide him. And off he went. But then this humble servant did a curious thing. He set out certain conditions to be met.

“Then he prayed, ‘Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. (13) See, am standing beside this spring and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. (14) May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’ – let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.” (Gen 24:12-14)

This servant was not asking God to give him a sign to help him discover who the girl of God’s choice for Isaac would be. No. he was the one taking the initiative by putting this proposition to the Lord. And the Lord obliged. Rebekah fulfilled the conditions to the letter, just as the man had stated.

We are not told how the man came to make this particular request. May be the idea was put in his mind by the angel that followed him. The point is he said what he wanted, and he got it.

We must put faith to work. We must pray to our Father in heaven as if we believe we have the authority to represent Him here on earth.

No, there aren't spiritual principles that enable us to get what we want from God.
The Bible says this about faith:

(Hebrews 11:6 NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Everything is subject to the will of God. Yes, Jesus said if have enough faith you can cause this mountain to be moved to the sea. But you can't do anything that's outside the will of God.

I prayed for the health of my unborn son. He was stillborn.
I prayed for the health of my unborn daughter. She was stillborn.
I prayed for the health of my wife. She still lost her transplanted kidney. She still died at the age of 30.
