First Time to try Steembay

Okay, so you got something you're thinking about selling, and want to get as much for it as anyone is willing to pay? An online auction seems to be the perfect solution. And since I'm so well established on the Steem blockchain, I don't see a reason why I should have to create a new account on e-bay (since the last time I visited mine was back in 1999). But let's see. Obviously exposure is what makes a difference, and should I not get enough of that on Steembay with its limited visibility, I may have to result to the conventional alternative...

What I Want to Sell: Ken Kesey's Videotape

Back in 1964 Ken Kesey (most famous for being the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), Ken Babbs, and a bunch of other associates of theirs took a legendary trip across the US in a painted school bus, taking and distributing LSD, and thus kicking off a phenomenon that became later known as "the 60's". Tom Wolfe recorded the story of this trip in his epic work "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test", which I read when I attended university in the late 1990's.

Not much later, as I was surfing the web on Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, I came across Kesey's own site. There he was advertising a combined footage of their infamous trip on VHS, which I bought. Interesting as it was to see Neil Cassady and other famous characters interacting on their cross-country journey, it was utterly unwatchable, unless you were on LSD yourself. The images were completely out of order, not to mention the out-of-sync sound, which was all over the place. It didn't matter, though, I enjoyed watching it!

I need to mention, this was the year 2000, while Kesey was sill alive in Oregon, and way before the documentary Magic Trip was released in 2011, which put the film clips in order, and synced the sound to it.

The tape Kesey sent me also included the most recent, and most final event for Kesey and the Furthur bus, taking it on a performance tour to the UK for the great solar eclipse of 1999. Most interestingly, it also includes film footage of Ken Kesey and Ken Babbs hand-painting the VHS covers, which they sold on-line. Supposedly there were only 200 of those produced.

So this is what I want to sell:

• Intrepid Traveler and his Merry Band of Pranksters Look For A Kool Place
• A VHS Tape with a cover hand-painted by Kesey himself in psychedelic colors.
• The tape is also hand-signed by Ken Kesey and Ken Babbs.
• It includes footage of the Furthur bus, and the trip across the US, featuring Neil Cassady aka Speed Limit, Cathy "Stark Naked" Casamo, John "Sometimes Missing" Babbs, Jane "Generally Famished" Burton, Paula "Gretchen Fetchin'" Sundsten, Mike "Mal Function" Hagen, and many others.
• It includes further footage of 1999, when the bus was brought back to its former beauty, and taken on another road trip for a performance in the UK for the solar eclipse of that year.
• Finally, it documents Kesey and Babbs hand-painting the VHS cover. (What could be a better proof of authenticity?)

Price and Conditions

I believe this amazing material should at least be worth $75 USD. However, I prefer crypto to fiat, which is the reason I want to try selling it on Steembay before anything else. So I believe 130 STEEM is a good starting bid.

The tape is currently located in New Zealand, which may be far from pretty much anywhere, but unlike in Mexico, this means shipping can be safely done over the public mail service. Please keep in mind: Shipping costs are additional to the final price.
