Any Steem / Witness Updates Available on Video Streaming Regularly?

Hello everyone!

These days I've become quite a lazy guy to keep up with all things Steem. I hardly have any idea what exactly is going on in Steem ecosystem, varied opinions of WItnesses on EIP / SPS / HF-21 etc.

Most Witnesses joined this platform early on. In those days, there was no option to give update other than making regular posts on Steem blockchain. Thus many Witnesses make regular Witness update posts ...some weekly, some monthly and some whenever they feel like communicating.

What I'm looking for is something like video updates or live video streaming from Witnesses or Vloggers. Is any Witness here hold a regular AMA session along with their own updates on a regular basis? It would be great to see an AMA session from Steemit Inc too but even if Witnesses keep doing regular AMA sessions or regular video updates (like Rob Finchy of Cypherglass on EOS or Everything EOS channel on YT), it would be easier to keep on things going on on Steem blockchain.

IMHO, videos help in making a better personal rapport and bonding with the audience than just inanimate words in a blog post. This will also help in choosing whom to vote and whom to support ...and whom not to!

I think @shadowspub is perhaps working on these lines with the monthly Witness Chat in The Ramble discord server and a live radio stream on VimmTV. But I don't want to join any Discord server for the purpose ....why should I leave Steem for that! Somehow VimmTV doesn't work well at my end with the internet speed I've. Nor do I see any option of subtitles there.

Although I appreciate such efforts, I wish more Vloggers initiate such shows on a frequent basis. Dtube or even YouTube (as it can play embedded in Steem blogs too) may be used for vlogging. Even if live-streaming isn't possible, questions for AMA can be collected in advance and answered in the video. Panel discussions may be organized with various stake holders on the same show etc.

I do search sometimes for such content through #witness-update and #witness tags but didn't find any. However, I'm sure there must be some content creators working in this direction too. If you know any, can you please connect me to them?

  • Do post links of such videos (even though they are old), I'd like to watch some of them for sure.

I never thought a demand for a steem show. What do you believe the adequate lenght and frequency?

I think 20-25 minutes every week or fortnight should be a great start. It can stretch a little longer in case there are several senior Steemians on the show or if the vlogger is breaking some technical or complicated stuff into simpler easy to understand language for non-techies and newbies. But short 5-7 minute videos about the new dapps and updates on Steem platform would be as helpful too. Perhaps, various vloggers can fine tune their own length after some experimenting.

The monthly Witness Chats are held in The Ramble on discord .. the text can be seen as we're bridged to a channel on Steem.chat and the audio is streamed to both VimmTv and Facebook. The recordings are later uploaded to Steem on my blog. The shows usually last about 2 hours.

It's not so much leaving Steem as going to where other Steemians gather. I also use Medium.com and there are several Facebook groups where they meet. It's just using resources that help build community.

Also in The Ramble is a weekly show called Curation Corner where @artemisnorth and I interview project leaders about what they are doing. The show is an hour and also streamed before being uploaded to youtube.

You're doing a great job! Frankly, a 2 hour show is way too long for me ...it's more than a full length feature documentary film. Can't it be done in half an hour show, 4 times a month instead of once a month? Once we get hooked to some shorter abridged versions, we may even crave for a longer show but its too difficult for me to plan for a 2 hour (...or even 1 hour, for that matter) show, right away!

I can guess that you're putting up a brilliant content as you have a good audience for such a long show. Nevertheless, I'd try to check the Curation Corner. How about @fiberartists's Coffee Hour? What's it about?

Not likely. I generally need to draw the discussion to a close or they would run longer. The format is such that people can engage in the discussion. It's not passive where they can only participate via text.

The Curation Corner runs an hour. Sometimes we go over but not very often. As for the Coffee Hour, the host of that show has dropped it for now.
