Maybe we could make it easier...

In my opinion, It's obvious we all have to abandon the use of Steemit.com as a main frontend for the steem blockchain. I don't want to explain what's the reason to do so but, of course, you can imagine it is related with the new Steemit INC owner.

There are good and, possibly, better alternatives out there as steempeak.com, busy.org or the excellent @eSteem Desktop Surfer which you can download from here.

I am really satisfied with @eSteem in both, mobile and desktop versions, despite on the second sometimes I feel it seems to slowdown my laptop processor a bit...

Regarding Steempeak.org, it is really an excellent frontend which I use normally in different computers from the internet browser. It really includes EVERYTHING you need, tribes, communities, badges, favourites lists, stats...and lately, EMOJIS as well 😉 (LOL)...

I think that some of those "concepts" and Services need to be understood by newcomers and not technical people before deciding to adopt Steempeak as a mean for interacting with the steem blockchain.

For instance...

But there is one thing that find much more complicate to do on steempeak than in any other frontend... well, I think also busy.org has a similar "problem"...

Where do you have to click in order to see the "NEW" content, independently of your own, communities etc... "FEED"?

Nothing here?

Nothing there?

Well, actually, let me tell you, YOU CAN see the "NEW" posts created on the steem blockchain if you go to "All topics" and then, realise that there is a filtering feature on which you can click on "created"... By default, this "filter" is set on "Reward" so, it is showing all topics ordered by obtained rewards which is a sort of old Steemit "Trending" page.

Busy.org has the same problem lately, difficult to find where the all "New" list is placed...but it keeps being simpler than steempeak which I think is a good advantage.

We should make the things simpler if we want more old and new users to make use of "alternative to steemit" frontends. Don't you think so?

I’m using SteemLeo right now. The interface is simple and very similar to Steemit. I think the tribe sites like SteemLeo and PALnet are easier to use for newbies.

What makes them easier, we would honestly like to know.

Steemit always felt more barebones, just less going on. SteemLeo has added some neat features like the price ticker. Since I’m not a newbie I can only speculate.

Don’t get me wrong, I use SteemPeak daily and prefer SteemPeak over others. :)

There are too many options on steempeak. On condenser it is easier to search by topic (tag). On steemit you literally only need to click twice to search for new content on any tag. On Steempeak it's hard to look for topics (you can search by tribe and communities) but if you are new you can get lost since a lot of times it is not obvious what a certain community or tribe is about.

What I don't like about steempeak is the default sorting by reward and the fact that you can't change that. Having the option to also see the "hot" posts would be nice (I know you can see the hot topics by typing on the address bar but that reloads the whole page and it's kind of annoying).

True, the learning curve is too steep, if even the veterans have to search for the “new” stuff...

That is your central question right? Do you mind explaining that better. I'm not sure i've understood your question completely.

I see you're interested in getting people to see NEW content from ... everyone? Why do you think people want to see new posts. Based on our analytics we don't see very much interest in that page.

But we do appreciate the conversation and thoughts. Thanks for sharing... look forward to hearing more.

I think steempeak is an amazing frontend but I think it prioritizes the visualization of high rewarded posts, which in principle is fine, but we all know that not always those posts are better than the non high rewarded ones.
So, if you want to discover new content from newcomers, it looks to me that steempeak does not help so much to them.

For me, steempeak is really the perfect frontend for expert steemians but not for newcomers.
