SPUD Steem progress report for July 2019 and a belated SPUD4!

What with so many tribes and tokens, it's getting a bit difficult to keep track of things, but to the best of my knowledge, here's my...

Steem progress Report for July-August 2019

Welcome to my second monthly steem progress report, for my first report please click here

Data tools used

_NB - I wrote this over the course of the last few days , so things may have evolved slightly since then!

Steempower

Capture.PNG

This kind of surprised me since I haven't really bought any Steem and I've been buying SM cards and PAL, LEO and Q.

Rewards

  • Total $ Rewards - $52
  • Curation SP 91.35
  • Curation efficiency (coming 7 days weighted) = 37.04%, down 1%.
  • Curation SP/ 1000 = around 5.8 per month, up slightly from last month!

Tokens, tokens tokens

  • Steemmonsters - valued @ $753 ($675) - I have bought a few more, but that's still quite an increase!
  • HUNT tokens - Around 13.5K = value @ $100 - no real change from last month.
  • PAL - 4K tokens, at around $330 in value
  • LEO - 4K tokens, at around $80 in value
  • Q - 67 tokens, at around $45 in value
  • AFIT tokens - 33.5K - values at around $190
  • I've got a few other bits and pieces but nothing else signficant!

Capture.PNG

NB I've excluded my own token, to reflect it's true value!

Delegations

Capture.PNG

I did a review of the returns on delegations recently and modified them accordingly - I moved 1000K SP delegation from minnowsupport to Qurator because of a 100% greater return on the later.

I'm also doing a DLease experiment - with SBI8 - this may be a partial way forwards for me.

Posting....

  • I posted a lot less in July....
    Screenshot 20190601 at 07.06.43.png

I feel much better now I've abandoned the post a day Steem obsession, it's just not necessary!

@self-track the alt

I've still got a further 1.5K SP in my alt account, but I'm now powering that down because I've lost my main password! I'll still keep the account to post through @actifit but I'll fund it via a delegation! OOPS!

I've also decided to stop doing my Splinterlands giveaways, the cards are getting too valuable, and it's a little tedious.

Final thoughts

I've got a couple of projects I need to work on off chain for Summer-Autumn, and so I almost certainly won't be posting as much as recently - less is going to be more for me in the next few months.

As to Tribes, I'm thinking steemleo is probably the one I'm most interested in, none of the others really interest me at this point.... but I'm sure that'll evolve.

Also, it might be a good strategy to be here a little less with the HF coming up, I could hapilly live without the drama!

Oh... as to SPUD 4, I just powered up a cheeky 50 Steem!

Can't seem to master this ability, well done.

I seem to be gaining less STEEM and more tokens, not sure if it's wise really.

I feel much better spending less time on Steem - having said that I'm just on here waiting for a Steem purchase to complete for my SF4 ticket!

Not sure about all these tokens - it's a risk, I'm focusing mostly on Steem still - although I think Splinterlands cards are a good investment!

Impressive spread! Very similar to my own although I am way over invested in Steem Monster (which has paid off). Forgot about SPUD yesterday but I have been selecting 100% as of late for author rewards!

Steemmonsters has been the best Steem investment, so you've done well there!

Great performance mate!
Question if I may: is qurator a good investment? How much you get in return for your 1000sp? Is it in upvotes or liquid steem?
Cheers

Cheers,

Q seems pretty good - it's about a 50% ROI, and I think that just keeps getting better.

You get both an upvote and Q shares and liquid transfers based on the Q shares.

...and how do you get the Q shares? By delegating?

Yup - you can buy them on steem-engine, or delegate, then you'll receive them via steem engine. .

Although they have gone up quite a lot since I bought mine!

Happy spud my man!

It is amazing how well you track and evaluate your steem business. I am thinking you may reevaluate the token jungle post fork when you are back into content creation. Authoring will take a little hit but the progressive folks staking various tokens could make up for the shortcoming in steem.

Congrats on another good month with great trajectory.

(Edited)

I haven't been buying tokens as I get allocated a lot. Not sure what some are for. I've delegated most to another account that follows my votes as others are doing. Will see how that goes, but I'm not worried too much about how much I make. I appreciate its different for you as you are self-employed. Good to see you doing well

I do quite like the numbers. I think that's just a personality (or lack of it) thing.

Although TBH I don't even factor Steem into my day to day income, it's more of a long-term wealth accumulator for me. On that front it's been treading water for most of the last year.... my accounts growing, but the dollar value has remained about the same!

I kind of feel like a duck paddling against the stream: there's an amusing post in that analogy somewhere!

That's really interesting, nice addition!

Did you use Python to write that?

SQL - Got a script that I tweak a bit each month and offer out in a post. Figured I might as well drop it here seeing as you are on the subject.

I've actually just started learning both - I'm only about 6 hours in, but that's enough to make me realise writing these scripts really isn't as difficult as I thought - it's just learning the language and then logic and of course accuracy really isn't it?!

I'm hoping Code Academy are going to chuck me a discounted offer now my trial period's run out. That's the way these things normally work, but I'm still waiting...

In the meantime, I've bought a Python book, had a few tricky moments getting everything set up, but so far so good.

It's a real eye-opener, and quite nice being a student again!

And as to writing more (sort of a separate point here) fair enough, if you're working on a potential future moon value of steem etc. it's still rational!

I'm just not feeling Steem writing ATM, I'm back into A-level sociology writing and really enjoying it, it just feels more focussed. These things tend to go in cycles with me.

I've always been looking at future potential while hoping to take a little out to fund things in the meantime.

That hasn't gone to plan but things generally don't. Interview on Monday :)

No - you need a plan B,C and D!

I hope you get the job, trying to live of Steem earnings ATM must be tough.
