Let's get to details, binance and it's relates exchange accounts are reported to have used customer deposits to powering up huge amounts of steem power that has been successful used to influence the witness list.
Before you proceed from here, I'd advice you first check the witness ranking and more specifically the top 20. Facts being they top witness have the mandate to push for any fork and in this turn it happened so fast, allegation or facts, don't butcher me as am still fact checking on the same.

The new CEO of steem after the prophesied takeover decided to surprise not us with a steem account, he mean to send that 'am a good guy' sign but we all had our own explanation hidden deep down out pens, a take over is all that he's after.
We gave in our own def of what he meant when he and the Tron team hinted on 'working side in side' with the steem team. But...
Major steem devs resigned
..the main and widely known superior steem developers has already left, resigned and that's enough to send tons of worries down every steemian mind because this were well known developers whom we trusted over the years and of course after they proved that indeed they respects the future and hope we have of this blockchain.
So what next?
Ned is away from this ecosystem and am quick to think if he really did foresee the oncoming takeover but failed to alert us or rather his team for the sake of securing the bag, he was okay to but...
Vesting period / powerdown period
.. the sad state of events is much worsened by the fact that I came across someone who must have hinted on attempting to initiate a power down but the same was thwarted by a 'bug'. Will the big exchange used to vote in new top 20 witness initiate a quick power down so that the can recover client's deposit?
How safe are our funds, ours knowing that we worked for the same over the content?
