Instead of trying to "fix" what isn't broken...maybe we should just...

I am not a @sbdpotato fan. I am not a @burnpost fan either but what do I know...right? Quite the opposite actually...let alone that those posts are all over the place. Needless to say that the last thing a new-comer wants to see is these kind of posts sitting on hot and trending page...

In case you didn't know...this blockchain is working like a charm...and it does exactly what was designed to do in the first place...

Whenever the SBD debt ratio > 10% the blockchain stops issuing new SBD coins to reward posts at least -still does for the approved SPS proposals- and post rewards are entirely in the form of SP and "liquid" STEEM.

So instead of trying to "fix" what isn't broken...maybe we should educate those who are holding and those who will be holding SBD in the future to not buy/sell SBD's above or below the 1$ mark?

I mean what the heck guys...why would anyone want to pay 1.5$ for something that is worth 1$? It's insane...

And vise versa...why would anyone wanna sell something for 0.9$ when they know that it's worth 1$?

Blockchain mechanics are working perfectly fine...it is US...people...who create problems...

You feel that there is manipulation in SBD's price and it's a burden for STEEM overall? Then remove it. Or replace it with something that can't be manipulated...

The worst part is that dozens of Steemians spend a fair chunk of time to share their thoughts / images / experiences only to be judged whether their posts "deserve" a few more dollars or not...and at the same time via all those "burning posts" we force the blockchain to issue hundreds of new STEEM tokens daily only to burn...half of them....

And you wonder why people have stopped posting?

Have a great one people.

Cheers.

Ha! That makes two of us.

Your efforts to make people have fun again have been noticed. You are doing a great job sis, but you already know that, right? :)

A theoretical question (as it is not likely to happen).

If I suddenly made a USD $100 million and bought all the SBD - would they still be burning?

If not, doesn't it suggest we need a way to attract more posters, not less? I know, oranges and apples, but it makes more sense to me than burning.

oops...sorry, forgot, the big accounts do not believe in more posters, we must find more curators - even if they only curate each other.

See? I'm slowly getting there :)

Hahaha...see? Now we are talking...

Theoretically you would be able to purchase only the SBD's available either in the internal market or on the exchanges. There are some pretty big SBD holders tho who could drive prices up or down any time they want...

Excellent points @mindtrap and I fully agree. I still can't understand why people are trying to "fix" SBD. What a waste of time and energy.
