How Steem changed my mentality...(final part)

In continuation of my previous post where I shared some thoughts on how my Steem adventure so far, has affected and changed my mentality regarding quick profits, I would like to delve into it further more and share with you other aspects of my character that have been also affected -always in a positive way- both regarding my Steem adventure but also real life as well.

I used to believe that people don't change.

  • How can someone convince a liar to change attitude...to stop lying and speak the truth and nothing but the truth? Can you?

  • How can anyone convince an artist that they should quit art and start reading mathematics?

  • How can one convince a gambler that they would achieve much more in life through hard work?

Each and everyone of us has specific interests, talents and skills. Each one is unique and have built their character through their experiences in life. Now you may wonder why I am bringing examples like these. Well, the main reason behind it is that to my surprise, and judging by my very own habits skills and characteristics, I thought that there is nothing in the world that could change the fact that I am bored really easily. I mean like...really easily.

To give you an idea of what I am talking about.

I have never been in the same job for over 24 months.

My longest relationship was/ is actually 26 months...and counting (God knows how she tolerates me...)

I used to live just to have fun. Partying hard was all the mattered...

Never had a real purpose in life and something to believe into. The only thing I cared for is my family and my dogs. And I needed to believe in something...or something had to change if you will...

You think I am exaggerating when I say that because of Steem and the way it is designed I learned to be a team member, and play by the rules? Well, I don't really care whether you believe it or not...because it is the truth. My truth.

You can't take the path of loneliness on Steem...it's leading nowhere..you have to be patient...

I was never a team player nor the definition of patience... Now I am both patient and a team player, and this has an impact in my life and my relationship too. I never thought I could do that, since I deeply believed that people don't change... Yet here I am...

I also used to live by one principle. And that is :"Spend every single dollar you have and have fun." I didn't worry about building anything in life. Sad isn't it...?

Yet, through Steem and just because it is probably the first time that I am invested into something in which I can actually interact with the rest of the investors and take actions for the greater good, also affected my life. In ways where I didn't think that was possible....

I've even started my own job...a small coffee shop...:)
Nothing fancy and luxurious, but we are doing OK. I never thought I could build anything..._silly me..._people can do anything. All they need is a small "push" and faith.

I don't know it's going to be Steem that will change my financial status or some other crypto project, but what I can say with certainty is that eventually...people can change.

Have a great one people.

Cheers.

Hello @mindtrap I resonated a lot with this final part, do you know most of the encouragements I've received that has helped me somehow are from people i don't even know, for me as well, whenever I see someone I could encourage or push i do it with all my heart, even on steem,...nice evening

If we don't change, we don't grow.
And if we don't grow, we aren't really living ...

As long as it's in good health there's nothing wrong with that.

I feel you. I get bored easily too. At the moment, the only thing that matters to me is my dog. Big rewards or not, Steemit is the only consistent thing I'ver ever done.
