Steem Is Going To Get Forked Real Hard Next Week For The 21th Time

The Steem Worker Proposal System will become operational on the 27th of August with the rest of the changes that come with Hard Fork 21. The fact that content rewards, both for authoring posts and curating them, will go from getting 75% to 65% put together of the total inflation and that a fund will be introduced that receives 10% of the inflation is a good thing, in my opinion. The way the Steem Worker Proposal System works is that all stakeholders get to vote which proposals will get funding. The proposals can be anything ranging from development to marketing. Authors are strongly recommended to use the appropriate tags or front ends to have their posts curated using SCOT tokens, of which there exist for many types of content.

All posts that have not been paid out when the hard fork goes live will be paid out according to the new rules. What this means is that no new post will any longer be paid out according to the existing rules. I'll probably continue posting and voting as I've been so far to see how the new system will affect my rewards. After that, I'll do my best to adjust to the new rules. What I'm expecting to happen is, among other things, is that my upvoting comments will be worth even less than so far. Typically, when you upvote a comment, you'll be the only upvoter of that comment. Because my voting power is typically between 50 and 55 percent, which means that I will have to vote on something I'm the sole upvoter of with 50% vote power or else my vote will go to waste as that comment or post will fail to reach the dust threshold. Hence, I will most likely stop upvoting comments altogether.

If you have the money to spare, you might want to consider buying some cheap STEEM and powering it up to enjoy the higher curation rewards next week and after.

Have you thought about what you're going to do when HF 21 goes live?

Since I have been here for the past two years and witnessing two hardforks. This has been the most publicized hardfork.

You're right. I don't even remember HF 19. HF 20 about 10 months ago wasn't talked about this much beforehand but I remember the shit storm that followed.
