Steem - The potential hidden gem from the Justin Sun/Tron collaboration...

avatar

Potentially big news that was mostly forgotten?

There was something mentioned during the initial steem/tron announcement that could end up being very big but hasn't really been talked about much...

It was mentioned during the AMA with Ned Scott and Justin Sun.

You know, the AMA that really wasn't much of an Ask Me Anything?!

Anyways, in there Sun said that he was going to use his Samsung connections to try and get Steemit listed on Samsung devices...

Now, I am not sure if I fully understand exactly what he was saying, but it sounded like he meant he was going to try to get steemit.com pre-loaded on all new Samsung devices when they roll out.

If that is indeed the case, that is YUGE news!

How YUGE you might be wondering?!

Well according to data mentioned in Forbes...

There are roughly 4 billion active smartphones in use currently, and the world's most popular smartphone brand is Samsung, which has over 900 million active devices.

Samsung is currently the market leader with roughly 27% of the total active devices.

And I believe this stat was mostly only talking about phones.

There are numerous tablets etc that also could come pre-loaded.

So, very YUGE!

But, will this actually benefit STEEM?

That is the million question!

If the above news is correct, there is no doubt it will benefit steemit.com, but will it actually benefit steem the cryptocurrency?

That all depends on how the two projects decide to move forward together.

On the one hand, we have multiple people from Steemit,Inc saying that steem will continue mostly as is (for now), as well as Justin Sun saying something similar in the AMA...

But, on the other hand we have had numerous media sources and tweets coming from Justin Sun's twitter (as well as Poloniex) saying that the steem coin will soon be migrated over to the tron blockchain.

Which one do we believe?

Honestly I have no idea at this point.

The actual mention of steemit and Samsung can be seen here by the way:

To me, the most logical thing seems to be keeping steem alive and allowing it to grow on its own with the financial backing and support of Sun and Tron, but sometimes the most logical path isn't always the one taken.

So, for now we have to continue to wait and see how things unfold with the new partnership and hope that when/if steemit.com eventually gets loaded onto new Samsung devices that steem (in its current form) will be around to go along for what most likely will be a wild ride!

What do you think, will steemit.com actually end up getting loaded on Samsung devices?

And, will steem in its current form benefit when/if it does?

Let me know your thoughts below.

Stay informed my friends.

That would be fantastic. Maybe I could be wrong but do not see how it wouldn't benefit the Steem Coin.

As long as steem is still tied to steemit, it certainly would.

I thought he said he would try to get Steem listed in the Crypto wallet on the Samsung S20, but I could be wrong.. However, doesn't Steemit need an app before it can be preloaded on a device?
