Freedom - My Thoughts on the Steem/Tron Situation + Sharing a Watercolor Painting

(Edited)

After almost being on the Steem blockchain for 3 years the last 2-3 weeks have been the most eventful.

The initial shock of Steemit being sold to Tron and the miscommunication of the Tron team caused witnesses to quickly create a soft fork to freeze Steemit inc stake. In an effort to protect the amount of time, money invested and the security of the chain itself until Tron's intentions were made clear.

After listening to the Steem witnesses meet up with Justin Sun in this video it seems he was not aware of everything in the deal he made with Ned. He did not know the ninja mined Steemit Inc stake was to be used to fund the blockchain and not to be sold or used to vote witnesses. Ned had made this public in many past posts but clearly did not make it known to Justin.

I understand Justin would want to protect his funds that he invested his own money into at all costs and we see the extent he went towards that by using the liquid Steem in exchanges to vote for his witnesses. They now want to reduce power down in order to get the Steem from exchanges that was used to vote back to the people. However, this would compromise the safety of the chain so they have no choice but to wait 13 weeks for full powerdown. The exchanges shouldn't have gotten into that situation in the first place.

He seems like a business man who simply wants a return on his investment in the long run and he says he is not interested in politics or the governance of the Steem blockchain. He will want to protect his investment now by moving some of it as he can't trust us nor can we for now. He will have to show that he cares for the Steem blockchain in future through his actions rather than words.

I'm not sure for the future of Steem with many of the team resigning and Justin seeming like he wants leave. It is good to see 7 of the previous witnesses back in the top 20 and would encourage people to take their Steem off exchanges, power up what they can and vote for the previous witnesses back into the top 20. We will have to see where the Steem blockchain goes from here.

Sharing with you in the image above a mixed media painting I did of a young woman. I used tea bags to get the background colour and watercolours to for the finer details. I like her strong pose that expresses her freedom and like the way the colours drip down the page.

Thanks for checking out my post, try not to give up on Steem our community has been and is very strong.

That is an amazing piece of art. I like the color blends and the message of freedom behind it. :)
