Favorite SteemPeak Updates and Communities Thoughts

avatar

The more and more time I spend navigating the @steempeak site the more and more I realize what a great job the team has done at integrating the communities update and making needed updates in general.

New Post

I've been really confused about where my post was going to be showing up when writing. I figured I could keep using different tags to make my posts show up in different communities and I found this isn't always the case unless for some reason I am using the tags wrong or mistyping something.

I'm testing this out now and hoping this shows up in the @ocd community, but as you can see from the image above, there is a drop-down that allows you to post to any community you've subscribed too.

I'll have to test out tomorrow if I write a post to my blog and then try to use a hive community tag as my first tag if that makes the post on my blog as well as to the community or just to my blog.

If anyone has a post that clears up or wants to leave a comment if I can post in multiple communities, or how to ensure my post is going in the right community let me know. Obviously I know I can go to the community on Steemit and click create a post, just trying to find different more convenient ways to post to communities.

Analytics

I think SteemPeak has made a huge improvement by including page views and time in the tools section so you can start once again tracking how many people visits your pages and how long they stay.

If you haven't seen where this is located, because it is kinds of hard to find, you have to click your name in the top right corner so the drop-down pops up and then select tools.

I just hope they keep developing this and it starts looking more and more like Google analytics. I would love to start seeing where my views are coming from and see how many people are coming from Twitter, Reddit, or somewhere else online to see what I'm posting in Steem.

This could be the first step you need to start selling your brand and expand the income you're able to make a posting on Steem. Just think if you could show you're getting hundreds, thousands, or more views on your content weekly or even daily.

Explore Tab

I think the Explore Tab is going to lead to great ways to find content that you might not normally find. Of the different areas to explore I think badges are the one that piques my interest the most.

I think "Badges" is a great way to find content that you might not find in communities.

I really like how one day I will be able to find updates from all the top 100 witnesses, active Steem project updates, Steem Leo updates, Photographers of Steemit, and so on.

I hope one day they might even have some "achievement" badges, like the minnow, dolphin, orcha, or whale badge. Those who've made over x amount of posts or those who have posted once a day every day for over a month straight.

Maybe a badge for anyone who has Powered Up 100 Steem Power in the past 24 hours or 1000 SP in the past month. It's an interesting way to help gamify posting while having a non-reward "reward" for helping to improve Steemit.

Thoughts on Communities

I think the potential for communities is incredible. One thing I'm still not 100% sure on is if you post in a community does it show up in your follower feed?

That's my biggest complaint about communities so far. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't understand how or why our posts show up when you use certain tags or if you post from different front ends or communities.

I wish when they have released a post came out that gave an overview of if you want your post to show up in your follower feed do this if you want it to show up in a community do this. Tags are still used for this and only the first hive tag will show up in a community.

Maybe that's just the beauty of Steem and Steemit is that Steemit was hoping that Steemians would develop their own guides on how to navigate the new communities update and that's fine as well.

Future of Communities are Bright

I think certain communities will die while others thrive.

Currently, I think the most popular communities are the ones that have the most SteemPower behind them, but other communities will find value, besides SteemPower to attract new users to post.

I think anything that helps people find more content they enjoy reading and spending more time on Steem is a better thing for everyone. I know I really enjoy engagement on all my posts and can't wait until Steem starts taking off and we see more and more engagement every day.

What are you looking forward to most with communities?

The views tool is so cool! I had no idea it existed! But yes, as you said, it would be even cooler if we could see where the views are coming from!

Es maravilloso lo que están haciendo en Steempeak. El futuro de las comunidades, lo veo igual que tú; sólo surgirán las comunidades que ofrecen un buen voto debido a su poder.

Regards @gniksivart.

Thank you for bringing us these updates on steempeak. I was surprised.
Just walk away a few days to miss out on so many improvements that have been incorporated. This interface has many advantages that should be incorporated into the steemit interface.

As for the communities.
This is the great step that steemit has taken. From now on this will be the essence of the ecosystem. I think it always has been, but the conditions of UI did not allow its maximum development.
All this changed.
I don't know if these changes are part of the last soft fork. Do you know anything about it?

I represent a community that has been constantly growing for more than 1 year. With much effort and dedication we have advanced. We are a well integrated team and we try to provide benefits to our subscribers.
Since the implementation of Steem Hives, growth has been exponential.
I mean, Project Hope Hive.

I hope this represents improvements for all communities and for the entire ecosystem in general.

All best, Piotr.
