Steem Moons When You Moon

This is an interesting state to consider. Most think they are going moon when the platform moons. Realistically when that does happen they are not going have enough Steem, be in a position of power, or built themselves in a way to capitalize. If they had they would have already been mooning long before the platform does. Sure they can have some nice side effects of the platform mooning, a decent check from selling off and so on. Then the party is over and they jump onto the next moon ship they can find heading out in 2055.

For the platform to moon is also quite a large feat and one that will be debated till the end of time on how to do it, when it happened, and who should get the credit when it happens. We have been told time again and again soon and for whatever reason people wait around for it. Perhaps consider that is why it won’t happen. You didn't moon so it could not either.

This platform is in love with the idea of the next big thing that going to save us all as if it was a superhero. You only need to read trending and the months of bloat posting and high author rewards of them agreeing with each other. There will always be that next big thing that for sure this time will save of us-- promise. As it pays dividends better than most would earn otherwise if not cheerleading it to the goal post. Perhaps instead it will be the million and one little things that get overlooked every day that add up over time.

I would like to stop for a moment and congratulation the 1%. Who will have future $20,000 oil changes and be spending $5k a month fixing rock chips that went through the Clear Bra on their paint jobs. As they look at their beauty queens in the gauge that rusts away with even more costs of $1k detail jobs and $15k tire replacements. The Lambo life is not for everyone but it’s a dream quite a few have at a distance. For others a very, very far distance as we are not interested.

Steem Moons When You Moon

Consider for a moment Steem at the local level moons when you personally moon from what you are doing here or there. At the most basic level, it’s a vehicle, after all, that amplifies what you do. That last part of what you do is more important than any author reward, SP amount you have, or just about anything else at the time.

You yourself can moon easier than an entire platform can. You don’t need to get mixed up in politics, you don’t need permission, and you are not tied to the price unless you want to be. Once you start to moon and sharing it you might even notice those around you are mooning as well. Which is strange how success creates more success around it or is it?

For those who are more in my inner circle know, I’m not the most positive individual to deal with. For those who are not you have my Achievements and Failures – D to grasp a better understanding. Where I give myself a D grade for the year on my achievements.

If I were a cryptocurrency I would be at a 400% premium for the year and that for me is a D rating. Even my failures many would consider success or one step closer to the moon. I have been mooning all over 2019 and most never knew my name. I kept my pants up for most of it I swear. I’m not a top trending author. I’m not a whale. I’m just the guy whose been doing his own thing which most would consider insanity at this point if you look at it.

In 2019 I was asked if I would do the following and I turned down or said I would not the majority of the time:

  • Be a curator in a bunch of different communities
  • Run my own Scot Tribe
  • Create my own hive community
  • Create my own coin
  • Startup my own community from scratch
  • Consult on a number of projects

The list goes on and on. Granted some of these had quite a few different offers in a single category and not all of them I said no to. Others perhaps will be better suited when I have the need for them in the future.

For most people who just read that you might be thinking to yourself “WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GUY?” I’m Enjar The Unconfirmed Time Traveling Cat. You might also be wondering why no one asked you to do such things above? More importantly, why did I say no to so many interesting and possibly amazing opportunities?

There are so many opportunities out there within our ecosystem. Not enough man-hours for people to get to them all. Some people are stretched so thin they are in dozens or even hundreds of projects trying to do what they can when they can.

I myself choose to focus what energy I can at just a couple of things at a time. Sometimes that’s just getting accepted into closed testing for a game. Other times it's learning entirely new skillsets I did not have before and spending every waking hour I can spare on something new like trying to create a procedural level generator.

Howling at the moon like a rabid dog expecting it to come down from the sky only goes so far. Go out and moon as Steem moons when you do. Those that don’t get it by now I fear never will. Those who wait around for some imaginary price point for it to happen will have missed out on more than they ever will know.

2020 is going be a huge year for many and I hope it is for you as well. You also don’t need to wait for the New Year to start which is why this post did not either.

This does give me an idea... even if steem doesn’t become a household name.... if many of it’s users became successful and invested more in steem, the price could still go up. We earn more in the standard economy and then take that power out of that system and into this system. Whether we want to do that is another question but I’m happy to invest 5-10% of my salary into steem

When it comes to the digital economy quite a few things can be brought into and created in our own.

This week alone so many are freaking out about YouTube going after cryptocurrency content channels on YouTube. Yet, many of those people don’t even know what Steem is. Never diversified there content on other platforms. Heck many of them did not even have offline backups of their content. They were counting on YouTube always hosting their content.

As a result, many have just spent a couple of minutes out of there day on twitter bringing up possible solutions and platforms to go whenever they see the random Tweet talking about what is going on regarding YouTube. Only time will tell how many new faces that bring but it starts up new conversations.

For some powering up Steem and engage with what is already here is their path moving forward. Many others that money is first better spent on servers, staff wages, buying equipment, advertisement or whatever else they need to become successful.

Steem becomes a household name from the success people are able to derive from what they are doing here. Success comes in all kinds of forms.

Steem is what you make of it. That's what I believe since early after arriving here. We are Steem - everyone of us should do their most possible to make the journey to the moon possible - and more fun ;)

But "the most possible" means to decide what you are able to do. I've got several ideas, could be involved in more projects etc. here on Steem. But since I don't have time for that, I'll stay with few topics and try to give my 'niches' my best.

Sometimes I’ll just toss a week or two of what time I can come up at a random idea I had to see where it goes. If I don't get a post out for a while or appear to have gone MIA I'm usually just spending that time on something else to see where it leads.

Absolutely right. You need to find a balance. Get involved so you're paddling when the wave arrives; but make sure you're not exhausted from paddling in the wrong direction, or too soon.
Its funny you mention this, but the day of the Path of Exile race was also the day of our end of year BBQ here in Adelaide, and I was hosting both.
Happily the race pretty much runs itself at this point, I just need to be there at the start and finish lines.

You just need a hive community for the race and Adelaide meetups and you are good to go! A BBQ sounds like fun!
