I have been on Steem for over 2 years now, and although I know about how many other great front ends there are (@Steempeak, @busy + many more), I still end up back at Steemit (Even though I know it isnt the best front end here! For no in particular reason (or so I thought), I am still loyal to Steemit - but why??!

First mover advantage

The concept of the first mover advantage is exactly as it sounds - the first mover in a new market has an advantage as they attract the early adopters. This has happened with Steemit, where new people often think that Steem and Steemit are they same. Steemit did have a fair bit of time before and competing front ends came along, and also it helps that it has the name Steem(it), which could easily be confused with Steem to new users here.

The classic example of this would be Ebay - they were one of the pioneers of online auctions, and now although not the best out there they have developed loyalty and trust among the market. People use Ebay without even knowing or caring about the number of other options now available.

So what does this all mean?

This means that new users will continue to use Steemit for some time, even though it may not be the best site for blogging on here. So it is a real positive (in my mind) that Justin Sun has acquired Steemit Inc, as he is already showing he is keen to get things moving along on Steemit.

If Steemit is going to be the first site people see and use on the Steem blockchain, then doesnt it make sense to atleast try and develop it so its closer to other (better) front ends? Seems logical to me...

Loads of people are hating on Justin Sun and think he has alterior motives, but I think he will do great things here and bring in a new crowd of people who may have otherwise never come to Steem...
