Who Cares What The Steem Price Is?

Let me ask you a question? Does anyone know the price of a Facebook share? How about an Apple share?
If Apple price is down 24% this year. Does this mean people are gonna stop using their phone? I don't think so. It matters however in Steem. Everyone knows the price of Steem. Mainly for the rewards. If the steem price is high you get more dollars as rewards.
But you get less steem. Check out the above graph. Bearish, very bearish. Flat Lining next year.
I have been on the platform 1 year now and made many good friends. I see this platform as an alternative group of friends from all over the world writing blogs and having a good time in here. I enjoy writing even though I was never the best but I am improving. Steem price is rock bottom at the moment. For me this is a good thing because I get more Steem for my posts. I'd love to accumulate more before Steem starts gaining traction again so it suits me that the price is low. I wasn't here for the good old days or the good old couple of months when crypto went crazy and steem price was at the 8 quid mark. We all await the next bull run. But will it happen again? I am not so sure. At the moment the people using the platform are the people that enjoy it, have invested in it and have made friends on it. Although it is rather quiet so it is very hard for newcomers to make any head way if it wasn't for the various initiatives that people on Steem are doing. For some Steem is life. Steemfest is a success annually because people really get into it. They get to meet the names and people behind all the Dapp's, put faces on names and have a good time. This is really unique. The names on Steemit right now are all familiar to me. This guy is doing this project, that guy is a witness. The guy over there upvoted me once for 20 quid. See that 16 year old spotty guy there, thats bernie! I have never been at a facebook meetup. Is there any?

So my point is if the Steem price is 2 dollars, or 10 cent. It doesn't matter. The same people will be still here doing their thing because they love the place.
With the Steem price being low there are many upsides. You can buy more Steem for less dosh. Steem is undervalued. We all know that so getting some in the bag before it starts increasing again is an opportunity. If you have Steem powered up it is all the one anyway because it will take a while to sell.
The Steem price being so low also shakes out the people just in it for the bunsen burner (nice little earner). I've nothing against people cashing in but they do take away from the platform.
So I am optimistic after this update especially with the tribes like @sportstalksocial, @steemleo and palnet. I think it's a good time to be on the platform. New Steem they call it. I'm OK with that. New Steem Old Steem whatever.... the regulars will be here no matter what telling their stories and doing their competitions. The key to mass adaption is getting as many people addicted to the platform like we all did! The problem here is that Steem is like Golf. It takes hours of time to build up your network and start doing a regular blog. As we know the new kids on the block have shorter attention spans. The target audience will be 40 plus if we think about it. Most of my buddies in here are auld lads. Not long left. We need to have a think about this one. How do we attract the kids? Appics is good, Steem Monsters is good but we will need more. Steem followed Reddit's marketing strategy in the past. Reddit did well. Steem did not. We do need marketing if the price is ever going to increase. Hopefully with a few heads screwed on and a better structure in place we can finally start looking at this. The days of the lambo's are gone. This is a business that needs to be run properly. The concept is great. Someone competent to steer the ship was what was needed. The man to do this is at EOS now about to launch their social network. Rumours have it he put 180 million into it. The concern then will not be the Steem price. There might not be a price.

Howdy sir blanchy! So your bottom line is that you like steemit but have serious doubts about it's long-term future?

If the right leadership is in place then it might have some chance. But during the upgrade there was only 1 tweet in 24 hours. Considering there is a director if communications I would of thought more than one piece of information may of been publish. Just think the main man behind steemit is long gone leaving the hotshot high and dry without an iota

Howdy sir blanchy! Well that might well be the case, it's hard to know exactly what's going on. I don't like having to blindly trust the leaders with almost no communication.
