Shout Out Loud: What is actually Steem, and what has really created?!?!?!

If you remember, a few weeks ago, there was the Youtube purge in which quite a few famous crypto youtubers saw their accounts looking like an empty room in a video game. Yeah, content hidden, videos censored, monetization gone... That time around everyone, mostly from the affected ones, were looking for better and hopefully decentralized and censorship free alternatives, out of the fear of melting as influencers of course, and not too much driven by the strong belief that they have in blockchain technology. Technology that they ramble about everyday...

Although simple users like myself, and even way bigger whales, have recommended this blockchain, on twitter and youtube, and who knows on what other social media platforms, not many of them famous ones have created Steem accounts, or used theirs already created. Simply because after the Holidays, the reindeer of Youtube came back to their offices and solved the case. Everybody now has his account back with all of the goodies, videos are being again constantly created, and money keep on flowing. Why bother anymore...

There are some of the crypto youtubers, as Steem users as well, that were affected by Youtube's censorship saga, or that at least have witnessed it, but none of them has bothered to create at least one video regarding Steem and presenting it as an alternative for Youtube, or why not, as a one of a kind blockchain based social media platform. Something like a dedicated video, and not just a low voice mention. Probably they did and I haven't noticed, but I doubt that...

I watched a video yesterday of some 200k+ subscribers crypto dude on youtube, in regards of "his best altcoins for 2020", and despite being a Steem user, as he confessed(I didn't bothered to check him up), he mentioned Steem as the last one on that pole... Really? Is Ravencoin that better? What does Ravencoin actually do? What apps are there created on its blockchain? I'm not aware of any of them... No offense to Ravencoin believers, but Steem has tens of apps that are being used daily by thousands, if not tens of thousands users over the world. Working project, helloooooo!!!

If I were such a famous crypto tuber on Youtube and I would stream on Steem as well I would definitely shout out louder about the project. Man, you're getting some rewards out of this rewards pool, at least you can shill the coin/project more often and with some boldness in your voice. Or are you fasting too much lately...? It makes me angry to see that even people that live on Steem are not promoting it properly, and that guy is not the only one treating Steem in this manner. There are some others that hit the trending page quite often, but you don't see them wearing at least a Steem shirt on their youtube videos. Yeah, wearing logo shorts on videos can trigger curiosity in the eyes of the beholders. They "wear Ethereum" instead. What did ETH gave you? ERC-20 tokens...?!

You know what Steem created and others didn't, IMO? BLOCKCHAIN BLOGGERS AND VLOGGERS. Steem didn't set the pavement for blogging and vlogging, of course, but it made them real on a blockchain, and it might be a decades long project, or even longer. Do I sound like a fanatic? Probably...

Moreover, it made, or should I say offered the possibility, for the average Joe and Mary, like myself, to become a blogger. I haven't blogged about shit anywhere, before I came to Steem, and although I am a lousy one, I am still one, and that's what makes Steem different among many other blogging platforms, and social media platforms. It made blogging and monetizing this type of activity simple and available to almost anyone. Even for the ones that don't speak that much English. I am not a native English guy either, but my audience speaks English, thus I pump some effort into this blog to make it readable. There are folks who don't blog in English though, and they're still surviving. Strange world, huh?

Famous dudes around Youtube, that cross post on Steem as well, and stack their Steem wallets constantly, don't seem to pump too much effort in promoting Steem. They take it for granted it seems. Let @theycallmedan, @stephenkendal and others do that... in promoting this blockchain everywhere possible. The famous ones are too busy shilling other projects and click baiting on the way to fill their pockets in $..., and cryptos.

I was a wanderer coming out of the fake world of Facebook and Instagram, when landed on Steem, and it made me a blogger. I say that it made me because here's where I learned how to do it, in the most simple manner, and in a fast and rewarding way. I could have done that on wordpress or medium, but it would have been a slightly different road. A more bumpy and difficult to climb one and not that rewarding for sure.

Steem made things simple for almost anyone around the world to be part of a new social media, to blog without any previous experience and get monetized almost instantly, to vlog even using just a smartphone camera and earn some coins by doing that, and all of these on blockchain. So, why not talk about Steem more, mister influencer that cross posts in here as well? Isn't Steem worth your word of mouth advertising? I'd say it is, but you're simply taking it for granted and prefer shilling other projects in your videos. Projects that you're holding coins from in your moon bags probably. At least wear a Steem t shirt, I'll buy you one...

First of all, you are not a lousy blogger. This is an excellent post. Here is why Steemit has had problems: content, news reports on many an embarrassing subject from around the world, like my documentation and fight against the DADADS. This resulted in vast government, corporate and organizational powers attempting to destroy steemit. The good news is these hacking/price mamipulation attempts have made the steem blockchain so tough, that steemit is rising! It's popped up and held 30% on coinmarketcap.com. Steem will continue to rise

Thanks. Still, some that are profiting quite well from it, do not say a word about it too often. They are simply happy with cross posting and getting that extra buck. It has a lot of potential, it's true, but needs much more marketing and advertising.

I found this over on Publish0x. I think you're a good writer and have started following you. Also, I've been spending more time on Steemit lately and exploring a little bit deeper.

I encourage you to use both platforms, although I mainly use Steem. I am sometimes cross posting on publish0x as well and consider it a promising blogging platform. If you are new to Steem and have any questions feel free to ask. If I will be able to help you in any way I will do that, if not...probably I know someone who knows someone...:)

I often think the same thing.. it’s crazy to think what could happen to Steem if a bunch of the big influencers talked about it more often. I’m always hearing analysis about these random coins that have little in terms of a working product (if anything) and hardly hear about Steem and the dapps being built here.

It’s a lack of marketing on both sides. It’s been getting better lately, but we have a ways to go

When you consider that some are already users, it's a bit of a shame to have such low exposure. As I mentioned in the post. They are satisfied with what they earn in here for cross posting and prefer to talk about other projects in their videos on youtube for example. At least once in a while, not to become intrusive, I would mention about Steem, link my account in the description or have some logo somewhere in the background. It's a project with good potential.
