Participation Pays Off - Thanks @dapplovers

I was reading the latest @actifit update post and I saw that you now need 10 000 Actifit staked to qualify for big boy upvotes and since I'm still trying to earn back what I paid for my fitbit I thought what the hell lets spend this 15 STEEM and buy 3700 actifit tokens to top up my account to over 10 000.

I purchase the tokens on steem-engine and sent it to my actifit account and well I didn't see anything reflect so I popped over to discord which I hardly visit.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner.

When logging on I got a message from one of the @oracle-d peeps to let me know I'd been selected as a winner for their latest writing competitions. I actually checked the announcement post and must have missed my name lol, because I congratulated some of the winners.

The review was for a finance and data dapp called Dock.io which can be found on the State of Dapps and you can find the full reveiw here

My experience

Honestly I was actually pretty surprised to be selected since I gave the product an honest yet scathing review. In the world of blockchain where every reviewer seems to be a paid shill and talking about how great something is, its nice to know that people with an honest opinion are still rewarded and taken into consideration.

I think we need to stop drinking the koolaid and simply because a project is tokenised and uses blockchain doesn't automatically make it great.

I think these tasks are worth trying out and that blockchain apps should get on board and allow for honest feedback and proper beta testing so they can build products people would be interested in, not just investors who like whats written on a whitepaper.

I would highly recommend you follow @dapplovers and @oracle-d and participate in the next review contests if not for the rewards but to get a sense of what is currently being built on the various blockchain.

By creating honest reviews and content about dapps we can give devs feed back to improve the product and encourage users to support projects that are worthwhile.

Thanks, lol I don't mind getting paid to rip apart projects. Not that I can see, waiting on a response from their discord! Hopefully, it comes through eventually. How many actifit tokens are you sitting on now?

About 320,000 AFITS. Sometimes it's just a matter of waiting a few minutes for the transfer to go through as Steem-engine can be slow sometimes.

I haven't bought any AFITS yet and I have been delegating to actifit since it's first week of operation over a year ago now. Plus all the post reward tokens in that time it all adds up 😀

Congrats on the win. I ended up following @dapplovers and @oracle-d (for now) so I can have a better sense of what's going on.

I thought about checking out @actifit for a while now but I'm not quite sure if it's something I want to commit to. (i don't want to start and do something half-assed on here) what's your opinion on Actifit? That's active based right? aimed to keep people moving. or am I thinking of something else?

You should also follow @orginalworks they also post regular writing competitions.

Yes @actifit is a fitness tracker and reward system so if you prove you hit 5k steps or more you need to post about it to collect your rewards in STEEM and their native token. Apart from Splinterlands they're probably one of the most popular dapps on the chain right now. It does take a fair bit of commitment.

thanks - I will follow @orginalworks too, I would like to get back to writing more.

I don't mind the commitment for @actifit. I thought it might be good motivation to get me back into fitness. I still can not walk with out the aid of a crutch and a leg brace, but I am determined to get back to it once fully healed.
