Splinterlands Experiment: 1% ROI After 5 Days [The First Numbers Post]

This is the continuation of the 575 booster pack and potions purchase series. Here we get the results of the first five days of playing with the deck I build out of the booster packs content and additional market sales and buys, to get a proper deck together.

The @crystal-grinder account serves as the player for Splinterlands, while @flipdabiskit holds the cards. This gives us the ability to quickly generate new private keys to hand over the playing account to another player. This was a fresh account and created on August 13th - 5 days before today.

Dark Energy Crystals

All Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) have been collected and not touched. Over 7.5k came together already and it could have been more, when the account doesn't have to climb up from zero and loose much of its Energy Capture Rate. There was also the season reset within these days and another grind was required to jump back into the Diamond league. Now the real grind begins, with a better DEC rate.

The value of the 7,676 DEC is currently about 40.98 Steem or $6.94.

Reward Cards

The reward cards from the daily quests, as well as the 60 season reward cards, from the Diamond 1 league, have been not great but consistently piled up. Not a single gold card was among the 163 and just one legendary. That's probability math on the lower end but still really good when you look at the total value.

The value of the 163 reward cards is currently about $7.63.

Total ROI

Putting the DEC and the cards together, we get $14.57.

The initial investment into the booster packs and potions was $1,350. This means we earned 1.08% of the original investment in less than five days.

That is an amazing result and really makes hope to see what we can achieve during the ongoing season. To infinity and beyond.

Looks like you really have to play your cards right in order to ROI. I think that’s a sign of a stable economy. Ridiculous ROI would be a major red flag.

Absolutely, the amount of playing is actually a lot and takes hours of my time every single day. So I put in energy and get out energy (in form of all sorts of value). And it becomes more and more difficult, as the player base and the experience of everyone grows. Also, the DEC inflation is sinking by 1% a month, I believe.
