I’m starting this post with this chart from the splinterlands discord channel

The Splinterlands players are well aware of it. It is the marketcap of the cards. Just a week or two ago the 2M cap was reached and just yesterday 2.5M. Ever since the introduction of the DEC token in middle of May the marketcap of the cards has been going up and up, almost two months in a row.

I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic here, but looks like great days are ahead!

Beta packs are almost sold out!

There are now around 278k beta pack remaining.

Out of the 900k that were issued this is 30.8% of the beta packs that is remained to be sold. From here one there is a big probability FOMO will start to kick in and the rest of the cards will be sold fast. My personal guess is somewhere between 3 to 6 months. Alpha cards are good indicator what will happen after this.

One of the reasons that the number of beta packs went down fast is the user @j6969. He has been buying a huge number of packs. Somewhere between 30k to 40k packs! Yep a massive investment. He is sort of a whale in Steemmonsters now 😊.

After beta packs are all sold out there won’t be a weight, sort to speak that will give them a base price, like the packs do now. It will be on the market to tell what the price of each card is.

There are speculations in the discord channel what will happen after the beta packs are sold out. Some say new edition of cards won’t be printed for a couple of months, others that it will be stupid from the team to not have cards on sale. I think it is to early to tell and sometimes the market can do wild things and you need to adopt to it. I think the team need to observe and make the best decision having in mind the circumstances that will be at that time.

One thing is for sure. This were Beta packs. Before them there were Alpha cards. So a standard edition of cards is coming sometime in the future.

Guilds

Yes guilds are coming. I'm not awere of the details how they will work but in short this means that we will have team play in the game.

Having team play is a huge deal. It connect people and is making the responsible to each other. It is even harder to leave in those environments. The game is quite a solo at the moment. Having guilds/teams is a huge addition. Hope they get the details right :).

According to the announcement from them the guilds should be out in a month, meaning somewhere at the start of august.

Personal Status

After the Champion II result from the last Season (personal record) it is natural to try to make it to the Champion I in this one. The highest league in the game!

But!

It is getting harder and harder to stay at the top. Last season I was playing only for the ranking, missing the daily quest. This season I have maxed out three summoners and I started playing daily quests as well. I’m still missing some cards that are not maxed out, and this is showing in the game. You cannot be at the top with a half deck maxed out and chasing daily quest.

I just finished my daily quest and I’m now at the 122th place.

Before starting the quest, I was around the 90 spot. It cost me around 30 places.

There are now 5 days left of the season and the competition will be furious. Probably the hardest till now. As this is the case with each new season. In these 5 days I will probably miss some of the daily quests, as I’m still not full prepared for them, but I wont to made to Champion I. It will be hard I can tell from the last few days. But that is the challenge 😊.

DEC

I’m trying to put some DEC on side. I have around 16k at the moment, but this can go in a second as I’m using it to buy cards. I hope to control my self and not spend it all at once. I will probably spend some of it as I earn more, but also piling on the way. Something like 50-50 ratio.
