Jose Mourinho "Lampard can grow with experience"

Jose Mourinho says Frank Lampard must ‘grow up with the level of experience’ as the Chelsea boss seeks to inspire a good run of form from his side.

Mourinho believes the Englishman has all the ingredients required to become a hit at Stamford Bridge, despite the Blues’ record scorer having just one year’s experience in management.
Lampard is still finding his feet as Chelsea boss
Lampard, 41, was thrown straight into the top job after just a year as a rookie manager at Derby County – leading them to last season’s Championship play-off final.
But the former midfielder has found it tough so far, winning just one of his four Premier League games in charge, a 3-2 win over Norwich City.
The latest setback was a 2-2 draw at home to Sheffield United after Chelsea threw away a 2-0 lead.
And Mourinho believes Lampard will become a better manager through experiencing the ups and downs of managerial life.
“He plays for big things,” Mourinho said. “He plays Champions League, he played a European Super Cup, he had already big matches in his hands, and he has to grow up with the level of experiences, which I believe he can because he has huge experience.
“I cannot separate from the fact that football has been always in his life.
“He was born son of a player, he grew up the nephew of a football manager (Harry Redknapp), he became a player, he became a top player.
“I think he has all the conditions to succeed.
“One thing is the player, another thing is the manager.
“The player, I don’t think any Chelsea fan will disagree with me if I say is one of the top five most important players of Chelsea history, and probably some will say not top five, maybe top three.
“Another thing is his managerial career, one year of experience in Derby where he showed good qualities and now he has Chelsea in his hands.”
Lampard faces a tough test once again on Saturday as Chelsea travel to Molineux to face Wolves.
