Daniil Medvedev acknowledged the 2019 US Open final with Rafael Nadal still leaving a mark in his mind. "Before the US Open this year, I have never reached the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam," Medvedev told Tennis World. "So, going to the final and playing the five-set match with Rafael Nadal is an unforgettable thing. Until now, that match is still imprinted in my body and mind."
