New Zealand lost two consecutive matches in super over after being in a position to win both the matches. In the first match, the Kiwis needed just 2 runs off 4 balls with Kane Williamson on strike and batting on 95. In the second match, they again needed 2 runs off 4 balls with Seifert on strike batting on 53. They went on to tie both those and matches. What's even worse that they scored 16 runs in the first super over and still lost it. Again, in the second match they scored 13 runs and still lost it.
It started back in July 2019 when they were playing in the final of the World Cup. From being in a position to win the final of the World Cup, they ended up losing it. They have played 4 super overs since then and lost all of them.
South Africa were given the title of "chokers" because they had been through similar circumstances. It looks like South Africa aren't the ones who are choking right now. This title suits Kiwis more now. The cricket fans around the world are really stunned with what Kiwis have done in past three days and they now need a win, not a regular win but a win in super over might help their cause. Kidding! They just need to get back to winning ways.
