Should Metsut Ozil remain in the bench for Arsenal?
The German attacker has not gotten a regular role in the new Arsenal team. He sits on the bench most times. His performance against Liverpool raised a lot of eyebrows on why Emre keeps keeping him on the bench when he has the ability to deliver. Ozil assisted in Arsenal’s three goals and had the highest pass of 34 coupled with the fact that he was substituted in the 65th minute. He has been kept on the bench for more than a month. The Liverpool match was the first he played in October, which marks his third appearance for Arsenal this season.
Arsenal needs Ozil
To say the fact, Ozil is not a type of player that should be kept on the bench. No matter how hard it is for Emre to decide, he should be able to give him playing time. Jamie Carragher commends his effort in his assists on the goals. He went further to say
“ I’m not Ozil’s biggest fan, but you cannot tell me he’s not good enough to get into this Arsenal team”
At the moment, no one is highly exceptional in Arsenal. They are all not at the top of their games, so I see no reason he should not be given a chance to play in the premiership. A playing chance for Ozil will speak a lot for Arsenal. I hope he’s given a chance to prove himself as he did in the past.
