they have gone to final 8 times and core team is unchanged right from 2008. Main advantage they have is with Dhoni.
But they are not strongest squad now, also dhoni has not played any international match for a long time.
Former MI player Raidu is good, but he is not explosive. Also he doesn't have good record in recent time. He is like a player who can play with a average of 120-125.
From spinning department Harbhajan, again a former MI player. Along with Chawla, the duo can do some miracle in a slower pitch. A combination off spin and leg spin.
And for sure they will end in top 4

Yeah, Dhoni’s ability to read the conditions and select the right bowling options is second to none. A lot of captains would struggle to manage that many bowlers but Dhoni commands the respect of everyone in the CSK squad.
But most of the time he is lucky actually, also the team with which he is playing is really strong in both batting and bowling.
Considering his form and gap from cricket for a reasonable time, I don't think we will see the Dhoni of past.
He definitely has good skills as captain, but now many of his skills and expertise is under question.
If this time in IPL, he can't deliver the best or the team will fail to secure in to 4, then he may retire from IPL or may even get expelled too.
