Manchester City Vs Tottenham Hotspur - Preview & Prediction
The English premier league returns for game week two and Manchester City will be facing Tottenham Hotspur at Etihad stadium. This is going to be the star game of the week after week 1 witnessed Manchester United facing Chelsea. Both teams won their first game and they will be looking forward to continue their impressive run but either they like it or not, three things is always involve in this game, it is either win, lose or draw. So who is going to secure the maximum points at the end or will the points be shared? The answer await them tomorrow at Etihad stadium.
Manchester City
Manchester City after thrashing West Ham 5-0 in their week 1 campaign looks like they are the favourite to win the league again but i think it is too early to be talking about who wins the league now but that result looks like a message to every other team in the league with Raheem Sterling Scoring hat-trick goal. Manchester City will be coming to this game with their best 11 because they really know what Tottenham is capable of. Although the team is full of depth with the likes of Aguero starting from the bench last week, he may finally start against Tottenham tomorrow, Mendy is still out to injury as well as Sane.
Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur last week also recorded a win against Aston Villa with a 3-1 scoreline even though it doesn't come that easy for them, Eriksen was the one who came in after starting from the bench and helped Tottenham come back into the game with Harry Kane also scoring a brace. Looking at the match against Villa last week, one can easily say that Tottenham is not in the same category with Manchester city and Liverpool for the race but for a team like Spur that reached the Final of the champions league last season, Manchester city should be expecting a tough match tomorrow. Eriksen after starting from the bench last week will definitely start the game as well as Vertonghen while Heung-min Son will not be available due to suspension.
Possible Line Up
Manchester City
Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva, Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling
Tottenham
Lloris, Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Kane, Moura
Match Analysis and Prediction
While Spur will wants to continue with their positive result earlier this year in the champions league, City also will also want to remain at the top of the log table and extend their head to head winning to 64 wins over 61 wins for Tottenham, both teams have played out a total match of 160 games with City winning 63 and Spur winning 61 of it, they have both shared the points on 36 occasions which shows they are very close.
After watching Manchester City last week compared to Tottenham, the Citizens are far much ahead of the Spur with the way they defend, control the ball in the midfield and attack against West Ham, it is not going to be easy for Tottenham to stop them but they can actually spoil their clean sheet.
My Prediction
Manchester City 2 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur
