Everyone who looks at Chelsea Currently Would say they have accomplished a lot because of the fact that they haven't really been so disappointing as people thought they would from the beginning of the season, needless to say, in my opinion I think Chelsea did well and are still managing to do well is because of the injection of a new manager into the team. Mind you, the psyche is always raised when when a new manager comes to a new team and I think Chelsea experienced this, and the youngsters of which lampard placed his faith on, definitely delivered to an extent and the fact that the young team was initially underestimate was the main reason why they neatly blew things apart but teams have come to understand this Chelsea team, known their weaknesses and the strength and now they seem to be caught lagging behind.

In earnest I watched the Chelsea team lately and they seem to be attaining diminishing returns by all means, it might be the fact that Lampard hasn't really got a functional bench that might fill in and do the job when the main guys are resting and particular this boils down to the ban. I watched the abysmal display of Pedro and Olivier Giroud against West Ham United and also noticed the fatigue from the play of Mason Mount and I discovered he really couldn't play to that energy to which he started the season with, so fatigue is an issue that Lampard should deal with. He might not even have any way to do this, but he'll be hoping for Loftus Cheek and Rudiger to come back from their long injuries, when these guys gets back, people like Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori will have the liberty to actually take their rest in other for them to come back better.

Another thing is that the Chelsea team are creating chances but the means or the quality to convert them isn't really there and this has proven really costly for them. I for one, I feel Lampard hasn't really trained the boys on the act of taking set pieces and corners and whenever Chelsea has one of these in matching we already know they won't convert it. In essence teams with good set piece conversion rate include Liverpool and I could count how many set piece goal Liverpool has actually scored, and this has made a difference in where they are on the EPL table. Chelsea had over 9 corners against West Ham United but couldn't even hit the target talkless of scoring. It's actually always less dangerous seeing sets pieces not taken well and Lampard isn't seeing this as problem to be addressed at all

Without a doubt, we would accept how long it takes to build a team but we would say it all boils down to transfers, howbeit, what happens to Willian's freekick prowess? Can Mason Mount no longer shoot from outside? Why is Tomori and Zouma always exchanging back passes in the defence? How come Kepa Arrizabalaga is often making school boy blunders? How come Jorginho gives away the ball in dangerous positions? And lastly why can't Tammy Abraham score against big teams? I believe Lampard needs to answer these questions, and when he does and profers solution to them, that's when the Chelsea team might compete for the top three. I don't think it's all about transfers, Lampard has done well giving all these lads the opportunity but they're still a work in progress and the sooner Lampard understands this, the better the team will become.
