Seahawks Quarterback—Paxton Lynch is in a concussion protocol after taking a brutal helmet to helmet tackle from Holton Hill Sunday night. After the brutal hit, the officials ejected Holton Hill.

Hill already got 2 suspensions and now he was ejected in the game because of the helmet-to-helmet tackle. It took some time for Lynch to stand and left the game. Because of the incident Lynch only got six of 15 passes for 67 yards without a touchdown or turnover.

“He went through the protocol, and he’s still in there now,”
“He felt like he was OK,” Carroll said, via the Teams official site. “But he’s still got to pass those tests. So we have to recognize all the process and take care of that.”

Having a hard tackle is nothing new in football, but taking a hard tackle in the head is another story. Anything can happen in sports, even death itself is present. Many professional players(athletes) have died because of a head injury or a concussion during or after the game. According to American Association of Neurological Surgeons(AANS), a hard hit to the head can cause a concussion which temporarily stops the normal functions of the brain.

Even though the skull protects us, it only absorbs about half of the impact of the force-directed towards our head. For an athlete, the body is its main weapon towards the battlefield. They must, by all means, protect their bodies for their good. Taking some precautions for when it happens is the first thing to do for them to continue playing the sports that they love.
