French national team goalkeeper Alphonse Areola joins English side Fulham on a one-year loan from French PSG. Last season, Areola was loaned out to Spanish Real Madrid, where he was mostly a reserve for Thibaut Courtois and thus only featured in nine matches for the Spanish giant.

In the past, Areola has been rumored to other more prominent clubs in the Premier League when he bought a house in London at the start of the summer. But the signature ended with the promotions from east London, Fulham, and he is pleased:

I am very happy that everything has fallen into place. Scott Parker called me and I had a good feeling. He said he really wanted me, he told Fulham's own website and continued:

Fulham is a historic club in London and I have heard a lot about their stadium. I hope it will be a good season for us. I want to come up with a lot of energy and do everything for this team so we can stay up where we belong.

Areola has played over 100 matches for the French capital club, but had a hard time establishing himself as the first choice between the bars. The loan includes a purchase option that Fulham can choose to use.
