Messi needs to join Real Madrid to prove he's the best ever'

Hugo Gatti has insisted that the Argentina captain, Lionel Messi of Barcelona move to arch-rivals Real Madrid to prove himself as the best player in history.

Former Boca Juniors goalkeeper Gatti is of the opinion that Messi – who has spent his whole senior career with Barcelona says he cannot beat his chest as the best player in history, as he might be unable to compete with players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Maradona and Pele for the title of football's greatest player without proving himself at another club.

He also claims that Messi has not been successful on the international stage which is also a determinant in his football career and which has also counted against him.

It seems as if I am anti-Argentine, but until Messi performs in the big games, he will continue to be a player of home games," Gatti said on TV show 'El Chiringuito de Jugones'.

Gatti continues that Messi must be bold enough to move to Real Madrid and prove himself just like Ronaldo did or else he will just pass for a player without those extraordinary abilities.

Gatti is right! Cristiano went to the best club in the world but Messi plays only at home with all the home comforts, let him move away from 'home' to prove his real worth.

I agree too! Where he can play and prove himself beyond all doubts.

Too much controversy on this. The truth is that Messi is a great player and would replicate anywhere. He doesn't have to move around to prove himself.

Messi performs when Barça lets him perform. It's very easy to perform excellently with everything in your favour at home, I agree with Gatti.

I do too. He can switch clubs and play for real so he can convince everyone.

I don't! Messi has control over the ball at all times. Has he not played against most clubs and players and still won?

Messi has played in three major finals with Argentina including a World Cup and the Copa America twice and each time they were beaten with him failing to lift the international trophy.

He has not yet won any international tournaments.

That does not mean a thing, he has scored many goals for Argentina. It takes a team to win not just Messi.
