October 8, 19: Prepping for Teaching, Super Short Walk, and Teaching Calculus

Spent most of the morning over on Discord discussing ways to take over the world...I would tell you more, but then I’d have to tickle you.

Really, we were discussing whether or not actively participating in this blockchain is even worth it anymore. I’m currently leaning towards “no;” the EIP/newsteem pretty much ruined it for everyone but the whales and circlejerks...most of the rest of us are just hanging on because we’re too emotionally and financially invested at this point to be rational, take the loss, and walk away.

Still, here I am spending my finite time on earth for the hopeful prospect of a couple infinitely inflationary alt altcoins...

Otherwise, spent most of the time getting ready for teaching and creating the next set of homework.

Derived a couple new rules (only one left to go now):

After I was confident in my ability to present the relevant information, I went for a walk. I would have liked to go quite a bit farther (was hoping for at least five kilometers), but there wasn’t enough time left, so only a wicked short one this time and no zombies or anything.

Was another gorgeous day out! Seriously glad to go for a walk, no matter how short...will miss it when it’s raining ice bullets.

Sun was blazing with not a cloud in the sky!

Walked by our friend’s garden and it was thick with bees again! 😁. Makes me so happy to see them coming back. What was it that the great steinboi said? It’s four years between bees and humans. With colony collapse disorder and all the pesticides and genetically modified plants, things were looking grim, but they seem to be coming back.

And even a butterfly still fluttering by.

I posted a pic a while back of the green balls that start coming in the fall, but I wasn’t sure what they were. Turns out that the squirrels have gotten to them and in their various states of destruction it is evident that they are definitively walnuts!
