Jan. 21, 20: Zombierun, Creating Homework, and Teaching Calculus

Alright!!! Another #DoubleDay! 😀 Crankin’ our those steps like it’s my job; well, actually, a significant chunk of them were earned on the job. Lots of moving around when it comes to teaching. While I hate chalk boards with a passion, it’s a whole lot better than sitting in front of an overhead projector like I used to.

Nothing too exciting happening in the morning, just the same ol’ same ol’. Cryptos have pulled back a bit and are in a little lull, trading more or less sideways, so still sitting tight and waiting for a good move. Looks like Steem is holding around twenty thousand Satoshis...lost a few thousand worth of SP in just a couple days. Hate to say I want it to go down again, but hey, I’m looking to buy; I’d be insane not to.

Played a little Xbox, but not much. Had to get the homework straightened out for my classes. Got it all done for the entire semester! Woohoo! I don’t think I’ve ever been this prepared when it comes to a class. Usually I figure out what we’re doing like the day before and create the homework in blocks, but this time everything’s done.

By that time, most of the day was already gone, so I went out for my walk. I only meant to do five, but ended up over six and a half! I always seem to underestimate how much distance those suburbs add.

Not bad out at all, especially considering how it has been the past few days. Air was crispy, but not uncomfortable, and the wind was taking a break for once.

Nice to see a bit of sunshine ☀️ after the gray of the last week, even if it means slightly colder temperatures.

Zombie missions are getting juicy! 😃 Twist on twist, Maxine needed Paula to be convinced that they were going to stay on the Comansis ship so that they would believe she was and not interfere with her plan to escape back to Able! We had a choose your own adventure style choice again to flee by hot air balloon, submarine, or lifeboat. I chose to go by submarine...so far so good. ☺️

Not sure where the hell all the zombies came from, but they were out in droves! Nine out of nine evaded with no warnings at all! 👍

Another rough day in Steemmonsters. I’ve continued to lose down to the bottom of Gold II about ready to get knocked out. Don’t know what the deal is...seems like just about every match I see level 3 Lord Anushole plop Down, and it’s game over before it starts.

I got stuck with the tournament daily quest again. I didn’t have to wait too long for an available tournament, and was lucky enough to win one ☝️ round (they put me up against someone in Champion 😢). This allowed me to complete the quest, but I hadn’t saved enough for a potion charge.

But I did get a new legendary card that I didn’t have before! 😄

In the evening I taught Calculus. We covered finding Volume by Shells (particularly cylindrical shells) and we evaluated a bunch of volumes using both the Disk Method and the Shell Method to get practice doing it both ways and to see how they both take different paths to arrive at the same destination.
