Yahtzee is a very popular dice game and is great for a fun night of board games in large or small groups. The goal is to roll five dice to get the highest point combination. The yahtzee scoring system may seem confusing but, with a little patience, it won't take long to master it.

This popular dice game (information in English) was invented in 1954, by a Canadian couple, with the purpose of entertaining their guests on their yacht. In 1956 they decided to contact Edwin S. Lowe, a toy manufacturer, to make some copies and give them to his friends who were fascinated by the game. Mr. Lowe liked the game so much that he offered to buy the rights. They accessed in exchange for the first 1,000 copies of the game. Initially the couple had called the game "Yacht Game" but Lowe decides to change the name to Yahtzee (information in English). In 1973 Milton Bradley Company bought Lowe's company, acquiring the rights of Yahtzee. By 1984 Miltron Bradley becomes part of Hasbro.
