The hotly anticipated Splinterlands mobile app (plus poll results and giveaway winner announced)

The last few weeks saw many new developments take place in the Splinterlands. But, it looks like Splinterlands players really want that mobile app. Here are the poll results and the winner's announcement.

dPoll Results

Last week's dPoll Giveaway was all about the state of development in the Splinterlands. With @steemmonsters announcing multiple development updates in the last two weeks alone, it made me wonder, which of these got Splinterlands players most excited about.

What was the verdict? Out of the 34 responses, it's the launch of the mobile app that won the polls!

Twelve of you, or 35.29%, are most excited about the upcoming Splinterlands mobile app. I'm actually with you on this. It would be great to get a battle or two in while I'm waiting to meet friends out somewhere or when I'm stuck in traffic during my commute. And as some of you pointed out, a mobile app is the next logical step for Splinterlands since it could open the game to an entirely new audience of mobile gamers.

Details about the mobile app are still scarce. All we know is it is being designed by @nateaguila with development slated to begin in July. So, while we wait for a more definite announcement and launch date, we can always admire the image of what the mobile app could look like above.

Here are the rest of the results:

Seven of you, or 20.59%, are waiting for the launch of asynchronous tournaments. It turns out that there quite a few players, myself included, who miss a lot of tournaments because of time zone differences and our busy schedules. So, to get the chance to join without being online and active at a specific time will be another great development for the game.

Five of you, or 14.71%, are already happy about the recently launched Splintertalk.io. Who wouldn't be? It's not just a great way to earn more tokens while writing about our favorite blockchain game, it's also a great place to discover Splinterlands-related content.

Another five of you, or 14.71%, are more excited about the launch of guilds. In fact, some are even a little surprised that it's losing out to the mobile app! No worries, I'm sure once more details about guilds are released, more people will see why it's a big deal.

Finally, there were 2 voters, or 5.88%, who are excited about the other just-released tournament updates including private tournaments and the ability to use other Tokens as entry fees via Steem-Engine. And surprisingly, no one voted for the launch of Splinterlands' multi-language support.

It is also worth noting that there were 3 voters who don't play Splinterlands, yet. Maybe we can change your mind one of these days?

Giveaway Winners

On to the fun part. This week, there were 34 accounts who voted on the poll. So 34 names were added to the wheel.

And after watching the wheel turn...

I’m sure I’ll be sharing glimpses of the mobile design process at some point.

In the meantime, just know that I’m just as interested in playing a mobile version as anyone else! It will dramatically change the way in which people access the game.

I think once you play mobile, it’s likely that it will become the preferred method of play.

Of course, we’re hard at work on guilds, Splintertalk, and everything else! There’s plenty to look forward to!

Cool! I look forward to seeing the design evolve. Glad to know you're just as interested in playing the mobile version as the rest of us.

And I agree, once the mobile is out, it could end up as the ideal device for playing, while the desktop version becomes the ideal device for managing your cards.

Keep us updated. Thanks!

Yeah look.... It's a browser game... make an app downloadable at the app store and this game takes really off. 🙈
