Prince Rennyn is still a powerful summoner (plus poll results and giveaway winners)

It's been about 10 days since @steemmonsters' attempt to balance Prince Rennyn. Most players agree that something had to be done to address his OP stats, but it seems that he might be as overpowered as ever.

Here are the poll results and the winner's announcement.

My take on Prince Rennyn's card balancing

The last giveaway was all about Prince Rennyn. Arguably the most powerful summoner in the game, his stats have been recently changed in an effort to make him less dominant, especially at higher ranks.

As someone who faces Prince Rennyn in battles often, the idea of card balancing is good news for me.

Sure, I may be biased since I don't play him, at all. But as some of you pointed out in the comments, the Earth Splinter already has 2 Tank Healers, 1 Self-Healer, and a monster with the Strengthen ability, which adds another +1 Health to all friendly monsters in a team.

Topped with Prince Rennyn's original +2 Health buff and you have a team that's pumped high with Health points that they're too difficult, if not almost impossible, to kill. So, bringing Prince Rennyn's +2 Health buff down to just +1 Health goes a long way to making sure his opponents have a fighting chance against him.

This brings me to my next concern... was replacing his +1 Health with +1 Speed Buff just as bad? It's still too early to tell, but it seems Prince Rennyn's additional +1 Speed buff isn't making things any better.

For example, it will take away the Fire Splinter's speed advantage, which has been one of the ways to counter Prince Rennyn before the card balancing. With Earth monsters like the Javelin Thrower and Spirit of the Forest already faster than other monsters, the +1 Speed buff plus the existing +1 Range Attack, will have them eliminating opponents faster than ever.

Maybe, we'll have to revisit Prince Rennyn again in a few months? We'll have to wait and see.

dPoll Results

But what did you guys think? Turns out, from the 29 dPoll votes, most agree that Prince Rennyn really is an OP card and changing his stats is the best way to address him.

Here are the poll results:

Twelve voters, or 41.38%, agree that changing stats is the only way to address Prince Rennyn's OP status.

Two voters, or 6.90%, also agree with the balancing efforts, but for different reasons.

And one voter, or 3.34%, is at least satisfied that something is being done to address Prince Rennyn, even though they don't agree with directly changing the stats.

The rest of the voters, however, don't really have an opinion over card balancing. Based on the poll, eleven voters, or 37.93%, don't really encounter Prince Rennyn often enough to form an opinion of him. And the last three voters or 10.34%, don't play Splinterlands, at all.

Giveaway Winners

First off, there were a few glitches with dPoll this week and I was unable to get the dPoll-generated list of participants who voted on the poll. To remedy the situation, I've decided to include all 31 non-bot commenters and voters who appeared in the comments section below for the draw, instead.

So, 31 names went into the wheel. And after watching the wheel turn...

The winner is @mastersa

Congratulations! You have won a Common Gold Foil Silvershield Archers and 2 SBI Shares.

I'll send the prizes in a little bit. Watch out for my comment below to let you know when I've sent the prizes.

I missed the bounty deadline...

I have to apologize to everyone who gave their comments on top of voting on the poll for the @steem-bounty. I couldn't upvote your comments in time before payout, so you didn't get your intended share of the bounty.

To remedy that, I'll be sending the 12 accounts who got an upvote from me 0.167 STEEM each, representing an equal share from the supposed 2 STEEM bounty. I'll comment below when it's done too.

Thanks for your understanding!

Wow thanks! That’s my first gold foil 😊

I don’t come across a fully levelled prince very often, but looking at the new buff I thought it was still too op.
