La historia detrás de una fotografía / The story behind a photograph

Ese día me sentía muy feliz ¿La razón? Ninguna en particular: Estaba con mi familia amada, el sol estaba radiante, la brisa fresca... Todo me parecía hermoso, todo me parecía una razón para agradecer. Mientras caminaba, escuchaba música, sonreía, bailaba, tenía tiempo que no me sentía así.

That day I was feeling very happy. The reason? None in particular: I was with my beloved family, the sun was radiant, the breeze was cool... Everything seemed beautiful to me, everything seemed a reason to be grateful. While I was walking, listening to music, smiling, dancing, I had time that I didn't feel like that.

Después de mi caminata, me integré a recoger la pelota en ese juego de la imagen. Igual bailaba, reía y quise guardar un instante de ese día en esa fotografía... Ahora la veo y me duele. Y es que en esa escena, viví un momento que me hirió mucho. Aún ahora que lo recuerdo, mis lágrimas brotan. Hay reacciones que parecen exageradas y sólo son la suma de muchas otras que se han guardado.

After my walk, I joined in to pick up the ball in that game in the picture. I was still dancing, laughing, and I wanted to save a moment of that day in that picture... Now I see it and it hurts. And in that scene, I lived a moment that hurt me a lot. Even now that I remember it, my tears are flowing. There are reactions that seem exaggerated and are only the sum of many others that have been saved.

Por supuesto que no está bien que haya permitido que mi día haya pasado de brillante a gris, y peor aún, que todavía lo recuerde gris. Estoy trabajando en superarlo, porque sé que a eso se le llama vivir en el pasado y la vida es hoy. Por otra parte estoy tratando de entender el mensaje y aprender la lección, todo pasa por algo y para algo.

Of course it is not right that I have allowed my day to go from bright to grey, and worse, that I still remember it being grey. I'm working on getting over it, because I know that's called living in the past and life is today. On the other hand I am trying to understand the message and learn the lesson, everything happens for a reason and for a purpose.

Tengo muy claro de que soy la responsable de mi reacción ante lo ocurrido, porque no podemos controlar lo que hacen los demás, pero sí cómo nos sentimos en relación a eso. Así que es justo en ese punto que debo enfocarme y mejorar.

I am very clear that I am responsible for my reaction to what happened, because we cannot control what others do, but we can control how we feel about it. So that's exactly where I need to focus and improve.

La vida es un reto constante que nos invita a superarnos cada día. Hay mucho que aprender, hay mucho que crecer, hay mucho por hacer... Por fortuna, se vive un día a la vez y tenemos un buen número de oportunidades para volver a empezar.

Life is a constant challenge that invites us to surpass ourselves every day. There's a lot to learn, a lot to grow, a lot to do... Fortunately, we live one day at a time and we have a good number of opportunities to start over.
