Se descubrió el material más antiguo que se ha encontrado en la tierra jamás, tiene siete mil millones de años, hace medio siglo, justo el mismo año que llegamos a la luna por primera vez, un meteorito se estrelló en Australia.

Se lo llamo Murchison y tiene una particularidad tiene en su interior el material más antiguo que jamás hemos encontrado en la tierra granos de polvo interestelares de estrellas antiguas que ya explotaron, este meteorito como muchos otros ha ido barriendo y encapsulando estos materiales, finalmente llevándolos a la tierra, con la diferencia de que este lo ha hecho en cantidades suficientemente grandes como para que se pueda determinar su edad.

Siete mil millones de años, para ponerlo en perspectiva el sistema solar tiene cuatro mil seiscientos millones de años y el universo 13 mil 800 millones de años, para llegar a este número se estudiaron unos isótopos de neón presentes dentro de los granos, pues éstos se crean cuando este elemento interactúa con los rayos cósmicos, así como curiosidad las tablas de valores con las que se hicieron estos cálculos fueron creadas gracias a los datos que nos transmitió la Voyager 1 sobre la naturaleza de estos rayos en el espacio interestelar, 42 años después y esta titán sigue haciendo historia.
