My Actifit Report Card: December 11 2019

Today I played two rounds of eighteen basket disc golf. Three of us played together. It was fun playing with a new person that we had never met before.

It is interesting how like minded people seem to find each other and have fun together. It kind of reminds me of how friendships form in younger children. Lots of times a common outdoor activity can make good friends.

Many of the people out walking in the park today seemed very interested in the game. Some were briefly watching us having fun.

The morning was warmer and rain and fog free but later on the rain and wind started coming in. I managed to ride my e-bike home without getting very wet.

I waterproofed my hiking boots last night and they worked very well to keep my feet dry. So no more potential problems with wet feet. I like my cross country running shoes so much better than boots for disc golfing but they are way beyond the point where a waterproofing spray will do any good on them. (They have large holes in them.)

Shortly before this was taken a passenger train came by both ways at high speed. I was not able to get the camera out fast enough to get a good picture of it. I did get a picture of this slow moving equipment though.

Trains are a really efficient way of moving a lot of people or heavy loads around. There is a lot less rolling resistance with metal wheels on metal rails. It seems like they could be very easily automated and made very safe if that were a priority.
