Silver Nugget
Hi Friends,
When I was in Arizona a couple weekends ago, I panned out some desert dirt looking for gold. I found a few micro pieces of gold in my test buckets so hardly worth posting about, however, I did find one silver nugget… check it out:
I call this a silver nugget, but actually I am not sure how to test to verify it is silver. I found it in a dry creekbed below an active lode gold/silver mine. I know it is metal as my pinpointer screamed when it touched it. I put the nugget on the scale and it came in at:
That is 1.19 grains and there are 480 gains in a troy ounce. With silver at $15.70 per troy ounce, the value of this nugget is $0.04 in US Dollars. Lol. Here is the nugget and the gold together:
However, maybe it’s a palladium nugget which is worth $1,900 per ounce?? Maybe a platinum nugget at $750 per ounce??
Anybody here that can help me with the identification? 😊
Thanks for coming by,
Brian
Is it a piece of lead from a old bullet? And you didn't call being in arizona
Could be but I do find a lot of those old pellets/bullets and this seemed different- in shape, lack of corrosion and the sheen on it...
Wasn’t close enough for a call unless you are near needles/laughlin area now...
Maybe it is palladium!!!! But if there is silver there, then there is gold! How interesting. I used to watch youtube videos of stackers who are also gold prospectors. They have so much equipment and looks like quite an investment. Where do you pan for gold, @brian.rrr? I say that stackers are also prospectors in a sense, hehehe.
Thanks for sharing your find, @brian.rrr. Have a lovely day, my friend, and take care.🥰🌺🤙
Hi friend! Yes, stackers are often prospectors as well! I prospect for gold in lots of places... come on down to So Cal and @derekrichardson and I can give you a crash course and put you on some gold for the day!
That's awesome, I wish I was there looking for gold. I wonder were you would find palladium.
