My love,
Last night you came to me and it was a joy to see you again.
We did not talk, nor did we make love, but we lay for the night together, wrapped in love.
In the morning, when I awoke, your fingers tenderly touched my cheek and then you faded away.

Now that the harshness of reality has returned, I find myself asking, why now my love, why after forty years have you found it in you to remember we may not be in love, as once we were, but that we love and are friends?
Why have you waited until it is so close to the end?

I am just glad you found it in you to visit, reminding me that my life has not been a desert, or if it was, I had an oasis now and then.

Yours with love,

She took a final sip of her herbal tea and prepared herself for her time of meditation, as she has done for over thirty years; her constant and unending, so it seems, search for happiness. It can never be attained, for she still has not dared to face that little girl who silently weeps within.

Surprising end, but also reminds me of someone who writes me once in a while and can not accept there is no we and there never was.

And this has nothing to do with a weeping child within.
