How our world is melting (Cause and effect)

The relationship between human beings and nature is not simple, it is metabolic. It is a relationship that is mutually determined. Natural changes necessarily affect human beings and changes in societies affect the natural conditions of the planet. Changes occur continuously and respond to parallel development

The world is permanently changing. The environment, along with the climate, is no exception. This is all due to the variation of the earth's climate and the actions that men have taken. Without a doubt, the earth has experienced alterations in its climate causing effects such as: the breaking of glaciers, the extinction of some species, hurricanes, hunger, poverty and destruction.

¨El problem is when human activities increase the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and the atmosphere retains more heat than necessary, causing the average temperature of the planet to rise and produce what we popularly call global warming.¨

The increase in temperature that is being experienced in recent years as a result of climate change also directly affect our health and can cause diseases such as Respiratory diseases, cancer, heart disease and premature death are the known and proven consequences.

For me, global warming is a term used to refer to the phenomenon of increasing global average temperature of the earth's atmosphere and the oceans. How it affects me is simple. When people talk about the crisis in my country, they forget that climate change threatens the disappearance of the last glacier in Merida, as well as the main reefs in Los Roques.

I come from a country that is losing its main natural resources amidst the indifference of the State and the ignorance of the population. And this is where it affects me, and a whole country.
In most Latin American countries the debate stands out more for the relative absence of discussion on these issues as a central axis in the debates where a systematic and inclusive analysis occurs more on technical, sectoral or concrete public policy measures.

Having seen how climate change affects us, it is important to make it clear that these changes cannot be avoided. We can reduce its effects and adapt to its consequences, that is to say, we can combat it by implementing measures such as:

  • Encouraging the agricultural economy: This is the system before the capitalization of production. It was a sustainable system that also generated wealth and self-management for the people.

  • Achieving agreements between countries to achieve the reduction of greenhouse gases through international agreements that commit countries not to exceed the limits established between nations.

  • Carrying out individual actions:
    1° RECYCLE
    2° Save on energy consumption.
3° Take a shower instead of a bath: not only do you save water, but also the energy you need to heat it.
4° Turn off the lights when they are not needed
And most important of all, planting trees.

I stopped believing in theories or data a long time ago because I have come to imagine that this climate change is just a part of our planet's natural cycle. Although in my opinion greenhouse gas emissions were the main trigger for this effect.
There are certain countries where greenhouse gases are even more concentrated. Such as: China, India, Russia, Japan, Brazil, Irán, Mexico and others.

The world continues to burn and man remains in complete ignorance of the consequences of his actions. It affects us all. It is time to put our conscience to work and stop polluting our home, our land, our planet.
