June 20, 2020--Practice blog in the time of the virus

Even though I didn't bother getting up until 11 this morning, i got a lot done. Practiced organ for two hours. Came home and practiced piano for about an hour. Currently making dinner. Going to clean the house up after dinner.

On the organ, I practiced and recorded the final three movements of Guilmant's Magnificat Op. 41 no. 2. Feel pretty good about them. The three videos are embedded here. I also worked on BWV 635 and 636. Was going to record 635 today, but it's not quite there. Hopefully tomorrow. I also spent some time on Bach's A major prelude and fugue BWV 536. Almost there. Just not up to tempo and there are two pedal entrances in the fugue that are awkward. Tomorrow..... Finished with work on Georg Kauffmann's Prelude on Herr, Ich Habe Missgehandelt. That recording is up at the top. It is the prelude for tomorrow morning.

On the piano, I worked on some works by Schumann and Chopin. Tried to get the E minor prelude from Op. 27 memorized, but it is only about 90% there. Tomorrow. Also worked on Liszt's Valse Oubilee and a Mark Hayes Arrangement of Bless be the Tie that Binds (postlude for tomorrow).
